There is a 'tech sheet' in the back pf the dryer. Unplug machine, Remove the access panel on the back to get to it. Reach in and it should be there. It will tell you how to do a button check. You have to enter a test mode through the buttons. The E 61 is a stuck button.
Enter function test mode and perform key stuck closed (active). (button) test to determine which button is at fault. Carefully free the and perform the test again. If button is free but the key struck code still exists, replace electronic control.

Hello Louie, I appreciate your inquiry!
Based off the information you have provided your Frigidaire dryer is displaying an error code of "E61" after you have replaced the element. An "E61" error code means that there could be an issue with your heater relay or main control board. You may need to seek additional assistance from a professional technician for proper diagnosis and repair. This will help you avoid any unnecessary part purchases. I hope this information is helpful to you. -Matt
I appreciate your post, Doug Anderson! From the information you have provided your Frigidaire dryer is displaying an error code of "E61". "E61" stands for heater relay failure which could be a problem with wiring, heater relay, or main control board. I would recommend performing a reset on your dryer and you can do that by disconnecting the power cord for ten minutes. This should help clear out any potential false error codes. Hope this information is helpful. -Matt
Hello Friend, this is Z. Thank you for allowing me to assist you!
If you are receiving an error code E61 on your Electrolux dryer, it usually means that your dryer is experiencing an issue with the heater relay. A qualified technician would pinpoint the problem by checking the wiring for both open and short circuit across heater relay(s). If the wiring isn't the issue, he/she would need to determine whether the problem rest with the main control board. It really could be a hit or miss calculation in parts so I would personally reach out to an experienced tech that will be able to identify the precise reason. Best regards!

Hello Curtis - Typically, error code E61 indicates a Heater Relay failure. At first the heater was grounded, and now possibly the heater relay. When the heater grounded it could have shorted the relay as well. Generally it is a good idea to have a professional take a look at it to get to the root cause. Cost of parts and technical expertise entailed in these types of replacements can be a bit tricky.
GE dryers use three-character codes that display on LCD
screens. Every code starts with "E" and is followed by a two-digit
number.
Power Failure
When your home loses power, the "E01" error flashes on the
screen. Reset the dryer memory by unplugging the device, waiting 30
seconds and plugging it back in. The error code will disappear.
Thermistor Errors
Errors "E02," "E03," "E04" and "E05" are thermistor errors.
The thermistor, when operating properly, reads the temperature of the
dryer. Errors E02 through E05 indicate the thermistor must be replaced.
Effects
When there is an error with the door switch and sensor, the
"E60" error code will appear. An unbalanced door will produce the E60
code. Try to close the door gently and listen for the click. If the
error remains, the door switch may need to be replaced.
Control Board Errors
The control board sends signals from the controls to the
dryer. When this fails, errors "E61," "E80" and "E81" appear. Contact GE
service or install a new control board for the dryer
The problem is not with the dryer as confirmed by the other identical dryer brought by the dealer. The problem is in the wiring of the receptacle where the dryer is being plugged in as characterized by error code E61 which means the control board is receiving a high voltage. The dryer operates both on 110VAC for the controls including the motor and 220VAC dedicated for the heating circuit. The receptacle must be configured according to the specifications of the dryer. Refer to the diagrams below and configure the receptacle according the plug that came with the dryer. Voltage across L1 and L2 is 220VAC, L1 and Neutral is 110VAC, L2 and Neutral is 110VAC.
