I can't hear anything from my MP3 Player and I'm not sure that the music is in the correct format. I lost the instruction manual. I just received it brand new as a birthday gift. The brand is an eTec.

If it is in the wrong format then I would not play the song. I would back everything up and the files and reload the firmware .

You can download mp3 music files from the Internet to your computer and then copy them to your MP3 player using the USB cable.
For your CD collection, you need to convert your CDs to mp3 music files onto your computer or download them from the Internet and then copy them to your MP3 player after you have connected the USB cable to the MP3 player and the computer.

Can we view movies in trancend mp850 and can we hear music in ttrancend 850 withiut earphone

Yes you can view movies BUT the movies files must be converted to a format that can be played on your media player.
You need earphones to listen to music and movies.

Check the specification of your MP3 player to determine thetype of video file format it uses. Most common video files that MP3 players use are, AVI andWMV, there may be others such as FLV, MOV and DivX. If your player cannot play a video then it is anincompatible video file format, then you need to convert that video file to aformat that your MP3 player uses. The instructions are useless, unit does not work according to their instructions. Have downloaded music, synced the unit, still cannot hear music. Tried everything. Can you help.

All songs must be in MP3 or WMA format in order for the player to load any of the songs to play. If songs are in any other format (MP4, ACC) they must be converted to MP3 in order to work. Instructions are on the Intova website how to convert music to MP3 if needed. If the songs that are loaded onto the player are in MP3 format when you press the play button you should see a yellow indicator light meaning the music is playing. If this light does not come on there may be an issue with the player. If this light does come on but you still cant hear any sound then the headphone wires may be damaged. If there is an issue with the player or headphones manufacturer Intova will be happy to help get you back in the water. Please contact Intova at [email protected] for further assistance. Thank you.

Instruction manual can be found at www.iriver.com - go to "Support" - "downloads" - "H300 series - 30MB monster user manaual -one of the better ones that I've ever seen.

Reset will not cause you to lose all your music, but you may have lost it anyways. I will give you a possible explanation (this is only one of several psosibilities): This player was created before the MTP protocol and DRM management was widely utilized. Songs that you downloaded from a legal music service - say AOL music service - a long time ago now carry a license that is read as expired when you sync this player with the newest version of Windows Media Player 11. Alternatively, you could have given the player a firmware upgrade or made some other chnage that caused it to be recognized as an MTP device rather than an MSC/D device. At an yrate, the songs you have on the player now show an error or "file format not supported" message all of a sudden.

There are other reasons those songs may not be showing up. Try reading them through Windows Media Player - if they show up there, and they say "error - file format not supported" - then use Media Monkey or some other software to convert them to Mp3 format, and you should be good again. Let me know how this works. I have other suggestions if I am way off base on this one.
