If you've never received an answer to this, I have a Flip UltraHD that had the same problem. I took pictures all along the way of fixing it. Let me know if you'd like to see how to fix it! Not hard at all if you're GENTLE!
Shame on Flip for not making this simpler!
Sure... sorry took so long to get back. Had to upload the images from my camera. Basically, here's the steps:
1. With a VERY slender blade, slide it underneath the little ring that covers the glass lens. Be VERY VERY careful not to bend it because it's very fragile. If you bend it, it's going to look like **** when you stick it back on at the end. No, I haven't shown you the end result. Just go to hobby lobby or somewhere to get a clear plastic piece and cut it to the proper size.
Anyway... here goes. Step by step...
Here's what it looks like before doing anything to it. Look at it closely and you'll see the place where the cover joins the camera. There's a bit of sticky stuff that holds it on, so just be prepared to pull GENTLY to get it off without bending it.
Now... take a blade that you can work up underneath the cover...
And keep working the blace around the outside of it. Do not just pull the cover off after you have the start of it otherwise you'll bend the cover.
After you've worked the blade completely around the cover, you can gently pull the cover off. Again, be very careful to not bend it!
Here, you can see the sticky stuff that's been holding the cover on. The glass lens will stay in its cradle still. That's okay. Just keep pulling it off gently.
This is what it looks like after you get the cover off. Note that the glass lens is still in the camera. Gently peel the stick stuff off of the cover. You can see in this picture below that I've already taken the sticky stuff off.
Now... we'll start picking the glass shards out of the camera unit. Be very careful not to scratch the lining that the glass sits in. It's okay to let the glass fall down into the unit. You'll just have to either get canned air to blow it out, or very gently shake it out. Your choice.
Keep picking the pieces out of the camera, and make sure you clean all of it off the edges. In the following picture, you can see that I've cleaned out the glass from around the edge, and am just finishing up getting it all out.
Finally, here's the finished result with the cover off, the glass taken out, and the rim of the camera that I've cleaned out all the glass shards. You're now ready to get whatever you have access to (glass or plastic) to put back in the unit. Take note here of how thick the glass is and take a small piece of it with you so you can get the proper thickness at the store (or jeweler as another poster has said). You'll just have to cut it to size, stick it back in and either user plastic cement or rubber cement to stick the cover back on.
There you have it! Wish you the best!
Patrick
Sorry... forgot to put the last image in here. Here's the final picture of how it looks after getting all of it taken apart.
Glad it worked!

EBay has them for $15 bucks. Easy install.

I purchased a replacement Flip Video Lens from eBay. Cost $15 bucks and free shipping. Easy to install and saved me from buying a new Flip.
Amazon has them for $15 and so does eBay. It is the repair kit. Go with this one. The glass is specifically made for the Flip cameras. It is not just mineral watch glass that others are selling for $10 bucks.
Hello, can you post the link to buy it, thank you, I tried to search but I could not.
Search flip video lens on eBay and it is the one that sells for $15.99.
Esslinger & Co. [esslinger.com] sells a Flip Video Camera Lens Replacement Kit item# 110.161, which? comes with the correct size crystal for replacing the lens and the tools needed to do the work, Easy Breezy!

I really want to thank JPTinKS. Because of your post I was able to fix my flip cam after the lens broke all by myself. I took it to 5 jewelry stores in my area and even a watch repair shop to replace the lens cover and NO ONE would even touch it. They all said it couldn't be done and didn't know how it could be (after I told them that I read online that it could be). One even said that I could take it apart myself, then bring it to them and they could look at it and see if they could fix it - for $40!!!
So, I used this post and took it apart by myself using an Exacto knife. It was so simple. It literally took me 2 minutes (and JPTinKS is right, the outer rim is SUPER delicate so be careful not to bend it, like he said!). I then found a watch repair website ( http://www.esslinger.com/roundmineralglasscrystalx1mmthick.aspx ) and ordered the crystal to replace it myself. The measurements are 1mm thick and about 20mm diameter. The lens itself cost .88 cents! Only problem with this site is that you need to order $10 worth of stuff for the minimum order but it ships fast and is exactly what you need to fix your lens cover. To meet the $10 I ordered extra lenses (though I think this will probably last longer being they are a high quality crystal), watch glue (to glue it back into place) and a pair of watch tweezers (to meet the $10 PLUS it seemed like a good idea so I didn't get fingerprints on the crystal).
If you attempt this, good luck! It's really simple. The hardest part is taking the outer cover off of the broken camera without bending it - other than that though, it is extremely easy!
PS: Just a side note: The new lens is slightly different than the original being that it doesn't have the black rim on the crystal (since it is watch crystal) but you don't need that - it's just paint anyway for aesthetic purposes!
You want Mineral Glass like Esslingers site or their ebay The Mineral Glass is Hardened and tempered so it doesnt turn color, scratch or break easily, Plastic scratches very easily and is not what you want for a lens or dust cover! Plus they are the only ones I have seen with a tool kit and epoxy and an extra crystal in case you screw up or have to do another camera...

Now I am about to purchase a Flip Slide for ym girlfriend anyone know if those use the same size dustcover? Thanks guys!
Jptinks,
I have same problem. Would you please show me the pictures of fixing the lens protector?? Thanks.
Same thing happened to me in the Middle East, Muscat Oman. I read all your posts on this site and others. I took it to a tiny Souk (market) watch repair guy and he fixed it perfectly overnight for 6 Omani Riyals =$US 15 so if a little old Indian guy can do it here overnight someone near you in the US should be able to.
Ebay has em for 10 bucks with instructions best deal so far.
