Go into menu, setup function, turn OFF "conversion lens" or anything like that. NOTE: a conversion lens is a lens that screws onto front of lens of your camera and the flash would get blocked by it, so there is a function in the menu that turns the flash off when a conversion lens is attached to the camera. If this works, STOP PLAYING AROUND WITH THE MENU TILL YOU READ THE MANUAL. LOL.

SOURCE: My Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ7 will not read memory

It wants you to format the card in the camera. This will erase the card so download any pictures on it first using a card reader if necessart.

Internal Flash Problems

There are three possibilities, bulb, high voltage capacitor, and step up transformer. The bulb is the most likely issue.

Flash not working, blured pictures

Do you have the flash turned off? Does the screen show a lightning bolt with a line through it? If so, press the button with the lightning bolt and watch the screen for a lightning bolt and an "a".

The flash does not work on my dmc-f27, why?

Check to see whether you've turned on the digital conversion for a wideangle or other lens. As I recall, that disables the flash. There may be a conflict between the flash and some of the other possible camera settings as well.
