Doing a job for a friend. Reconnecting all his gear to an Integra DTR-7.1. Everything works except for the surround. I can't get the rears to speak from the receiver. I have verified they work (wires aren't broken) from an external source. Any ideas?

If you have everything connected properly, then it wont necessarily utilize ALL of the speakers, unless you have a true 7.1 signal coming in. is it using optical or coaxial? make sure that the options on the receiver are set right......the rears on 5.1 and 7.1 dont work unless they are told to by the receiver....and the signal coming in from the external source ( dvd player, ps2, ps3, xbox....) tell the receiver what it is going to need, in order to utilize the full signal. everything is labeled, and it sounds like you know what you're doing, when it comes to hooking this up, which is always good. it sounds to me, like something isnt configured properly, so i would start there. it may take a while, but you get the idea.....

I have a Integra receiver model number DTR 66 and I have no sound. it appears to have everything connected and should be working. I would like to know how to reset the receiver or what steps do I need to...

NO sound at all? That would be odd as its internal FM receiver is independent of any user connections. I'd work on getting FM to work first, then move on to more complex issues.

The manual is here:

http://www.retrevo.com/support/Integra-DTR-6.6-Receivers-manual/id/550ag000/t/2/

To reset the AV receiver to its factory defaults, turn it on and, while holding down the [Video 1] button, press the [Standby/On] button. "Clear" will appear on the display and the AV receiver will enter Standby mode.

My left rear speaker has no sound. All others work. I have tested the speaker on a different reciever and it works fine. My reciever is a integra DTR 5.5

Swap your left and right rear speaker over. If you still get no sound from the right speaker connected to the left speaker connection on the receiver, then you have a fault on the receiver output. Check your manual first to see if any setting switch off the rear speaker before taking the unit for repair or replace
