Color is bluing (blue bleeding thru)

I have a Sony wide screen (rear projection) and blue is starting to bleed thru all the other colors. I called a repair man and he told me it was the tube. He went further and told me the tube may not be completely sealed and a dust particle may have gotten into it. He said there is a process/piece of equipment he can do at his shop to reseal the tube (take about 4-6 hours). It this true? Should I just buy a new set, or find a new repairman?

Please adjust TINT control of Video Settings in Menu that will adjust color tone of TV. I do not think this problem is related with Lamp because TV screen does not have any color blobs or spots.
Above solution is for Sony KDF-55WF655 model TV, if your model number is different, let me know.
Thanks.

I have color bleeding or washout in solid colors? does that mean the lamp is going bad?

I am not sure which set you have, but, when colors are bleeding on a projection set that is a good indication that the tube is going bad. The color that is dominate, red, green or blue, this will tend to bleed across the screen. If I had more information on your set I could give you a better suggestion, but if it is a tube it will be a costly repair.

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue.

Blue dots in center screen after installation of new home theater system

Looks like you may had some unshielded speakers near the back of the unit the caused the color to bleed or fade this is perm damage to one of the guns that shoot the pic to the mirror. There is a fix for it but it may be a costly one.

Have you tried disabling SVM (scan velocity modulation)? Often touted as a "feature" of TVs, it's a way of artificially making a picture appear sharp. Totally unnecessary. When SVM (sometimes called VM) is on, it can lead to some color bleeding around edges.
