Clean the takeup roller and feed belt with a damp rad (water). If that doesn't help, you man need to replace the roller, belt, seperator belt and possibly the sep roller torque limiter.

SC 395 Development output abnorma. Remove the development unit and clean the gears.If necessary change the developer.Remove the OPC imaging unit and clean the cleaning blade.
There is an actuator type sensor between 1st paper tray and reg sensor.sometimes a piece of paper gets stuck there. Open the door on right dude and shine s torch down u may c a piece there. If not go into service mode and do an smc print and identify sensor with jam and test it in input mode.
Im not going to explain in fine detail .It sounds like you do know what is going on.But if you open the 2 side covers and the top door on the ADF wou wil be able to remove the the white plate under the white plate is a nother sensor.If you did that then replace that sensor it can be faulty.
You can remove the back of the machine and take the hard drive out.
It has failed. Not uncommon , The stapler will not work without the hard drive. You can pick one up anywhere the sell hard drives. Probably not more than a 16 gig hard drive, but it will work with out it, just leave you a small message that the hard drive isnt working.
If the line appears only when you are using the doc feeder, and it looks like a straight line that you have drawn with a ruller, then it is on the glass. Not the large glass where the copy lays, but the narrow glass. Make a copy using the ARDF, paying close attention to it's orientation (which side is up and which is down). Then, take the copy you made and lay it next to the narrow **** glass in exactly the same direction as it went through the feeder. Wherever your line is, there is something on the glass in that spot. Take your thumb and rub with a good bit of pressure in this spot. You might not see anything, but trust me, there is something there. It might be as small and transparent as a spot of ink. A flashlight will help. You might also try using rubbing alcohol on a soft cloth to clean it. Hope some of this helps,
