Plasma tv screen flickering and distorted. Sometimes the entire top half is distored and flickering then it will return to normal for a few minutes, then repeat again. What could be causing this?

actually that's the vertical chip its spoilt you need to take to a technician to replace it thanks.

I would replace the lower Y buffer. Part number 996500032640. Goodluck.

replace the control module.

put a towel across the top of the tv so it can heat up faster and you will get your picture. be carefull!!

hi ive got a samsung SP24Q2HL rear projetion tv
it appers not to recive signal and only has distorted screen with green lines it sometimes works but very unreliable

Today, after speaking to the Sansui Manufacturer representative from Japan. He stated that all you need to do is to turn off the closed caption from the TV remote and not the DVR remote. Black screen can occur at the top half or the bottom half of the screen depending on how it was originally setup during installation. Try this and hopefully this fixes the problem.
