Both drawers are flashing and beeping, displaying the message F1 with a wrench symbol underneath. If turned off, they come back on after a few seconds,

Assuming you are getting the F1 error in both drawers.

This means there is water at the base of the housing under the bottom drawer.

Turn power off and take the drawer out. You will have to pull out the plastic pins on either side and get the front cover off. This will enable you to pull the drawer out from the slide bar for better access. Use towels and hair dryer to get rid of all the water. The flood switch is mounted on the power board. Use hair dryer to dry this out.

Put everthing back and turn power on.

Thanks for using FixYa. F1 error means that the flood switch has been activated. You’ll need to reset it by powering off the breaker or by unplugging the unit from the power socket and mains for more than five minutes. Please check that there is no blockage in the drain hose and it is not raised higher otherwise the water will run back to the dishwasher. Also perform the following procedure---

• Unplug power and remove bottom dish drawer
• Use a Sponge and dry all the excess water underneath
• Remove circuit board cover
• Dry all around and underneath as much as possible
• Apply hairdryer for 10-15min

I am assuming this F1 error is coming in only one drawer and that you are able to run the second drawer as normal.

In the case of your dishwasher the F1 error occured because the foam would have overflowed over the drawer top into the base of the unit. This would have triggered a flood switch which is there to protect water damage to the dishwasher. You can either wait a few more days until the base of the dishwasher drawer unit dries up or you can dry it yourself.

To dry the base, extend the drawer as far out as possible (turn mains power off first). The use a few towels and push them on to the base. Pull the towels out and dry the base especially the centre of it with a hair dryer.

The F1 should disappear once you put power back on .

Hope this helps. You have a very helful child who sets the dishwasher up. I have to keep pushing my children to even empty it.

You will need to be a bit more specific when you say "no flood".

Are you having this F1 fault in one or both drawers?

What did the engineer do when he was there last time?

Does the F1 code flash with beeps?

What happens when you turn the mains power off and on after a short delay?

Please provide the actual model number of your fisher and paykel 2 drawer dishwasher.

I am slightly unsure if your double drawer dishwasher is the prefinished model (self standing with LCD display) or the integrated model with no LCD display.

The spanner symbol on the top drawer is telling you that a fault code is actuated. But I am not sure where this symbol is on your unit if it is built -in (integrated model).

You will have to check which red light (from the left) is coming on.
I assume there are 5 lights on the inside of drawer.

With the bottom drawer - again you will have to check which light from the left comes on sometimes as you mentioned.

If you have a user manual you should be able to tell what Fault code it is - something like F1 or F2 etc. Is it continuously beeping when the red light is on? How do you turn the beeps off?

The scrubbing bush symbol on bottom drawer may not be a problem. It appears the drawer is programmed to a particular option. But I am not sure where this symbol is showing if you do not have an LCD display panel. You can reset the option - possibly auto lock or auto power or dish cleaned (depending on your model) if you follow the user manual.

Flashing wrench means a fault code has been triggered.
F1 is the fault code when flood switch at base of dishwasher cabinet turns on.

This can occur due to several reasons when moisture gets to the base of the drawer cabinet.

You will have to turn the power off and extend the drawer out as much as possible to expose the back of the cabinet. Take towels and a hair dryer to dry the base. Once the flood switch gets dry the problem will go away.

The main thing is why did the water get there. You could have a crack in the hose or simply the detergent may have caused too much foam.

The dishwasher while running began to beep constantly and then BOTH drawers began to beep with blue lights and read F1 with the small picture of a wrench. It will not turn off but keeps beeping with flashing lights.
