Two things to try:
1. Get a separate card reader and use it to download the pics to your computer.
2. Take the card to Walmart and plug the card into a Kodak Picture Kiosk machine. You can print the pics or even make a cd of them.
Once you safely have your pics. put the card back into the camera, go into the menu and find "format"..follow the on-screen instructions to erase and initialize the card. Everything should be back to normal.
Screen has been damaged. Possibly due to impact damage. It's probable the usb socket is damaged to. If the camera still works and saves pictures then you can upload pics to your pc via the card reader. Try sourcing another camera for donor parts like the screen on ebay
What software are you using to access the pictures. If you don't have the "canon" drivers installed it just won't do it.. You can however go get a card reader for the Flash card and that saves on the camera batteries..
Right click my computer icon, select manage, from the left side select device manager, then on the right side note any ! or ? marks and find your camera. it possibly has a problem. you should also be able to see your camera, in my computer as a removeable drive
if you ave the camera's installation cd try reinstalling it if nothing happens try my computer you may find it under removable drive if it still does not work and ur pics has been saved on a memory card try using a card reader to access the file on it
