Re: Canon Powershot SX110is: problem with the batteries
I have a Canon PowerShot A75 camera that had the same problem with the "Replace Battery" message appearing immediately even after I had put in brand new out of the package recommended batteries. I tried all the remedies I could find by reading on the Internet. Here is what solved the problem: I bought and put in the Eneloop hybrid NiMH Rechargeable batteries and have had no problems since then even though I have taken many, many photos since putting in that type of battery. Result: One camera that I love being salvaged instead of being discarded.

Hiyour unit might has in zoom control gear unit or zoom in and out detecting sensor area. this type of problem might has two solution to technician. first is change defective gears. second is a whole lens unit replactment. either or any other problem of this type of camera they just charge you around $65 to 115 depend on what your local repair shop want to charge.
If the camera still takes and downloads photos correctly it sounds that something is wrong with just the display - the LCD may be smashed or a connection went loose. Sounds like a job for Canon professionals, but do search for other solutions.
Sounds like your PC have communication problem with the device, Uninstall your existing camera software/driver from Computer (PC), download driver for here for SX110 IS and then is install it after downloading it.
Check for battery current ratings, Canon cameras need AA batteries with current rating above 1200 mAh, I use Energizer rechargeable batteries for my Canon Powershot SX110 IS. The batteries last more if we use the flash option wisely.
