Your radar detector is detecting a problem with part of the circuit during the start up - or boot sequence. Typically, these complex devices run a quick diagnostic check when starting up. If any result isn't as expected, you get a warning and in this case - a message indicating it needs servicing.
There is little that you can do to the detector to locate the problem; much less fix it. You could try to shut it off and turn on again to see if the problem goes away - but it probably won't. Your best bet is to return it to the factory for repair. You could continue to use it - but if the part of the detector that failed has to do with displaying or detecting radar sources, you may be in for an expensive surprise when you get pulled over for speeding.
