Its not impossible but a real battle without the correct tools. If at the back of your washer, you have the main arm assembly, then firstly remove the belt and then the pulley.Undo the nuts holding the assembly and in short, pull that assembly off by pulling it towards yourself. Once off, you will see the bearings and seal that need to be replaced. Once done, reassemble carefully and god luck.

HOW DO I REMOVE WASH DRUM

Removing the wash drum is generally one of the bigger washing machine jobs requiring a major stripdown.
When the casing and the front of the tub have been removed the drive pulley is removed and then the drum and spider assembly is pulled from the bearing.
In reality it is usually something needing a big hammer or giant mallet and hitting the shaft like a madman until eventually the bearing breaks up and releases the drum and spider.

Bearing replacement

One of the biggest jobs to do on a washing machine. Remove the drum from the machine, remove the washer drum, knock out bearings, replace drum spider (shaft) fit the new bearings, and drum seal, put everything back together again. Job for a experienced engineer.

Samsung front loader washing machine

Sounds very much like the drum bearings have failed. It is not a DIY job I'm afraid. Up to date washing machines are now impossible to actually replace bearings and only way to repair is to replace inner and outer drum assembly. This is a 1/2 a day job at the least to a professional. Older machines.....you can replace the bearings but this still involves removing the outer drum ou from under the washing machine, and the a very normal bearing removal and replacement procedure. Make sure the bearings are knocked in very straight and not on the skew. Good luck

Noisy bearing on drum

This is not an easy job on any washing machine. The AEG is probably the same as most washing machines in that it has two bearings on the shaft at the rear of the drum but it also has a carbon water seal on the inside and usually you will need to change this too as if you disturb the bearings it will surely leak. If you have never done this before it can be dreadfull. If your drum has bolts and a seal at the back to withdraw the inner drum and back plate out the back of the machine then you are lucky and you should be able to do the job in about two hours. If you dont have a removeable back on the drum you will have to strip the whole machine and remove the drum supports and hydraulic pistons at the bottom. All hoses and pipes and wiring attached to devices on the drum will have to come out as well as the door seal and soap dish rubber connector. Good luck.

How easy is it to change the drum bearings on my indesit wil163s?

you will need to remove the pulley first, the screw in the middle will need a knock to release the loctite.
you will then need to remove the spider assembly, that's the metal cross the bearings are sitting in. there are bolts set around the drum. spray the bearings shaft with oil to help removal, and you may need to hammer the spider as you remove it to loosen it. be careful of the heater.
then knock the bearings and seal out and do the reverse proceedure to put back together.
