Question about Kenmore 24 in. 16539 Built-in Dishwasher
Hi,
thank you
is loaded. Because of the location of the detergent door, a large item
such as a cookie sheet or a pan can prevent the door from opening. Run
the dishwasher through a cycle without anything placed in front of the
detergent dispenser and see if that solves the problem.

SOURCE: Should the detergent dispenser door be open once
Hello, Yes the door should be open at end of wash, either the dispenser is faulty or the p.c.b. If you dont want to go to the exspense of new dispenser etc.Try putting tablet ( I presume you are using tablets ) in the cutlery basket. If you are using powder then it will have to be repaired.
Hope this helps.

SOURCE: Bosch Aquasensor Detergent Dispenser door wont open during cycle
Behind the dispensor door there is a small selanoid you will need to replace this, test to see if its open circuit, alternatively you can just place the detergent in side the machine before you put it on a wash cycle is this would have the same effect. the only cycle you can not do this on is the one with the prewash, I think its number 1.

SOURCE: detergent door does not open during session
Sounds like a bad dispenser solenoid, or it is not getting the prompt to open from the controller or timer and it also sounds like it is still under warranty, get them out to look at it while you can.
