power off the printer. removed the network cable only. power on until it display ready. now print a config sheet or menu map. if it print without error then connect the network cable and print config sheet again. wait and observed. if it will start printing garbage then KILL the print jobs queued on the printer. after deleting all print jobs power off and power on printer with network cable connected. I hope that will fix the problem. by the way. was there any error display in the panel display like "49.4C02". etc.
Unplug the network cable and restart the printer. If it sits there doing nothing then the PC's job that you sent to it is the problem. If however the printer although unplugged from network starts printing again then yes the printer memory is messed up and you will need a new main pcb as you cant clear its memory as its integral with the board.
A 49 error is a corrupt print job. Delete your pending print job then reboot the printer. OR unplug the network cable, reboot printer, it will say Ready. Do not plug in network cable otherwise you will get 49 error. Plug in USB cable, download Firmware upgrade from HP.COM, then plug network cable back in and watch as the previously corrupted print jobs translate fine and print print print ;)
Go into the Job review mode and highlight the pending print job (note: it may be stuck in processing). You should then get the option to delete the job.
Make sure that the pending print job is also cleared from the network print queue. They can sit in the queue and be persistent on processing, even after you've cleared the copier. Clear the queue prior to deleting the job on the copier.
If this doesn't, disconnect the copier from your network and try the above steps again, then reboot the copier and reconnect it to your network.
If you're trying to print out Adobe-based web pages from the internet, this may be what's causing your copier to jam up. There's known coding anomalies with Adobe-embedded documents on web pages. Trying to directly print from the web page can stall or lock up the print process.
Dirty fix... When the printer errors out...stop, unplug the power to the printserver. Reset the printer, Clear the print que (delete jobs/restart print spooling service), restart the printserver software and plug the printserver power back in. Wait for the re-detect. Everthing should be good at this point. Unfortunatly the print job will be lost and you need to print again...BUT, NO REBOOT yea!!!
Note... for me, if this sequence is not followed, I will have to reboot. The printserver will be locked for the PC that was trying to print. All other PC's will be fine, and I have no idea why.
Good luck,
Bill
If the printer is currently displaying a 900 RIP Software error, power off the printer and leave it powered off for 20 seconds or more. Doing this will clear the printer's memory.
While the printer is off, clear any pending print jobs from the computer or the network queue. This will prevent any corrupted print jobs from being sent to the printer again when it is powered back on.
Power the printer back on.
If the printer goes to the Ready status, try printing again.
If the 900 RIP Software error returns when the printer is powered up or when you try to print, there is a problem with either the printer, the communication cable connecting the printer to the computer, or with the print job itself. Follow the directions below to check each of these components.
If the error appears every time you power on the printer, regardless of whether you send a print job or not, the likely source of the problem is the printer or an option installed on the printer.
If the error appears only when you send print jobs to the printer, the likely source of the problem is the computer, a setting on the printer, or one of the communication cables.
you may try this:
unplug the network, usb, and fax connection
remove all papers
turn on the machine
press print key
press stop
press 1 for yes to cancel the job (if theres a job queue)
I think I can help but its been a long time . you need the clear the print jobs at the PC first then the print serveron the copier. turn the copier off and on, as it starts to warm up press the print button, now when it ask if you want to start setup press yes...scrool around till you see clear print server and say yes ....now reboot.
good luck

Try cleaning your heads with appropriate solution. Then, cancel all print jobs. Try again. If it does the same i would turn it off, inplug all the cables, replug all and turn on. Try again. If still no good, completely unistall printer then reinstall it. Try once more. Good luck
