SOURCE: Color printing
Clogged nozzles the color cartridge needs cleaning with some cartridge flush or some other kind of solution and running a few good cleaning cycles, failing that use it more often to keep the cartridge from drying and causing the ink to stop flowing from the jets.

SOURCE: New Color Print cartridge and isn't printing color
No, I didn't get my problem resolved. I tried what I was told to do. It is weird that sometimes it recognized the cartridge and then other times, it doesn't. Can one cartridge go bad and the other print? I have a 888# that I am going to call tomorrow evening so maybe I can actually talk to someone. Thanks for all of your assistance.
SOURCE: Lexmark 1240 black ink prints in streaks.
the streaks have nothing to do with the nozzle. There is a pad on one side that wipes the jet off. If it is soaked with ink it leaves ink on the nozzles or head. Also bad ink/cartridges can damage the nozzles where they don't close and pour ink out. On occasions ink will dry in the nozzle and ruin it.
To fix it usually requires you to take the printer apart and wash the ink out of the pad and reinstall.
