Well it could be something the previous owner spilled in the vents, or sprayed into the vents to try to cover up a moldy smell. You might try a detail shop to get rid of the smell.
i have same problem and cannot seem to scroll or navigate my playlist list, just what comes up. i.e. once connected to the usb port on the escalade it will scroll those playlist which come up on the screen. unable to see any video. hopefully someone can shed some light on this problem. fc
