Picking up satellite in Paris

The only time you get a free update is if a new map comes out within 60 days of your satnav first accessing satellites. If you're paying for updates you can pay for a once off or for a lifetime update. With the lifetime update you pay once, 85 euros for the map of Europe, and you get maps every 3 months or so.

Insert the memory card into the memory card slot on Garmin Nuvi 250 GPS device. The memory card slot is located on the left side of the device. Push the card in until it clicks. (If you inserted a memory card that already has pre-installed maps and files, there is no further action required. The device will access the new maps based on the address you enter.)

Connect the Garmin GPS to the computer using the USB cable. The mini-USB connector will need to be inserted into the rear of the Nuvi 250; the larger end is inserted into the computer's USB port.

Locate the computer file that you want to download to the Garmin memory card. The Nuvi 250 is capable of reading JPEG formatted images and GPX formatted Waypoints and other mapping-related files. Right-click on it. Select "Copy."

Select the "Computer" folder from the computer's desktop Start menu. Double-click on the "Removable Disk" drive that represents the Garmin Nuvi.

Right-click in an empty space within the drive and select "Paste." The files have now downloaded to the memory card and will be accessible through the Nuvi 250 menu options.

Reset your unit and call Garmin. It might be a bad download.

oh man i don't like when people ask me for free but u know what i bet u are a great guy and i can help u.THE ONLY THINGS YOU'L NEED IS AN USB,GPS WITH FREE SPACE,AND GOOD FAST INET.

i don't think there is a map that is 2.16 but...
than download the one you want and type in keygen generator garmin 250 nuvi
and than download it when you downloaded all the data copy the map in your garmin drive
and copy the .meta file to the keygen file folder load/run the keygen and write your device code than copy the map code. than disconnect your device and then when your device asks you for the map code write the code that you just have copied

The nuvi 270 is the model that comes with pre-loaded maps of europe. The nuvi 250 only has North America. You can find the right maps on Garmin at: https://buy.garmin.com/shop/buymaps.do

You can purchase all of europe or select areas which are $50 dollars cheaper.

If a GPS gets a factory reset, powered off for months, or powered up again in a different country, it will eventually scan the sky for any satellite it can find, and then download a new almanac and ephemeris - which can take up to 12 minutes after it finds the first satellite. This is best done stationary, to minimize the doppler effect until a fix is acquired.
