Sony DCR-TRV25 when opening LCD panel turning upside down

When I open the LCD panel of my Sony DCR-TRV25 for shooting is that what its happening is that the position of the image is turning upside down. There is an icon image during that time that appears. What is that mean? The only way to use to shoot is to close that LCD panel.

I dont realy understood what you want me to do for a solution. What I want is a solution that will never goes back the problem and not a temporary solution, I can't shoot without an LCD opens especially in the wedding where there are many people.

My camera used to do that too as a matter of fact its just how some cameras are i used to be in a video class with cameras in high school and college , if you have to turn the lc panel the other way for it to work so the lcd panel must be turned away from you when your filming then to watch it you can turn it around i hope this helps you if not reply to me at Jonk3y @aol.com

Plays back on lcd screen upside down at times

When the viewport is completely flipped around so you can see it when you are looking at the lens, it automatically flips it upside down so it is right side up to the viewer. Make sure it is locked into the correct position to prevent this from happening.

Hope this helps

My LCD panel only works when swizilling the panel forward as you do when recordning yourself. This makes it pretty useless to use in normal mode. Any ideas how to fix?

The micro switch at the joint is bad or the ribbon cable is loose. It has two functions - flip the video upside down so that you can do self recording to monitor and turn on the monitor when the panel is swung open. The switch is stuck in a middle state when you put it to normal. It needs to be taken apart and reseated correctly.

I have a sony dcr-sr82 camcorder and the lcd upside down

It might be the flex wire connecting LCD with camcorder responsable. What happens when you turn the LCD on the other side?

Problem with Sony DCR-TRV25 camcorder

Your code indicates that the supply reel is not turning or is not supplying a pulse so that the camcorder "thinks" it's turning. Hard to say why that's happening without seeing the camcorder. Is there a tape stuck in the unit?

Flex Cable replaced-but now VF is dead, plus...

Hi, I have just repaired my camera following the excellent series of pictures provided by airshod, and I think the viewfinder problem could arise from replacing the tiny board under the D panel covering the lcd panel hinge. This panel has a tiny switch activated by a little projection on the lcd/hinge moulding and on reassembly it is necessary for the panel to be open and at right angles to the body so that the projection is on the right side of the switch for correct operation. I assume that it is this switch which activates the changeover from lcd to VF. It could be that if the lcd panel were closed while asembling the D panel the switch could have been damaged while opening it later, but the board would be easy to replace - the supplier of the cable should be able to obtain a replacement. I'm not sure about the upside picture problem though, it may be related to this but without a service manuel it's hard to say! Good luck!

Upside down

Hi - I think you may have activated the "mirror mode" by rotating the LCD panel.

See page 33 in the manual:

Sony handycam dcr-sr40 lcd display

flip switch is not working or stucked, a loose wire connected to this switch is also possible. you may open the unit and check for it. a pro fix is better.
