Mitsubishi vs 50707 50 inch projection tv problem

Picture is intially scrambled, like a horizontal hold problem. after a few minutes it unscrambles, but vertical columns can be seen in the picture if the background is dark. the problem on my tv has now escalated to where it turns itself off as soon as i turn it on.

I have the same TV with the same problem. White vertical columns that show up real clear when you have a dark background. Is this something that I can fix myself or do i need a tv repairman to do it???

    Any help would be appreciated.

On the signal board replace the caps by the 5/9 volt regulators. c2p04 is the main culprit. 6 caps in total can be changed. I believe c2p05 also.

Hi I have the mitsubishi WD 62525 and I have replace all the bulgy capacitor, now the tv is working, but after a few minutes the picture start distorsionated to the point that is scramble. I turned off...

You have a multitude of surface mounted capacitors that have to be changed on the DVM module which is part of the Light Engine Assembly. Mitsubishi's are notorious for this problem. Mits charges $300.00 to refurb the Light Engine Assembly , which is not a bad price.

Mitsubishi vs-55707 or vs-50707????? bouncing horizontal lines weird color

If the picture looks like a 3D then you have a convergence failure.
I would suggest to visually inspect the STK Ics for dry or crystallized solder joints.

Mitsubishi VS 50707 ( not 705)

I have the same TV built in 99. My problem is similar but the vertical hold gives out when the tv warms up about 5 minutes. I will attempt to locate the vertical hold circuit and replace any parts I suspects may be the problem. I suspect a cap is leaking or transitor around IC700 is degrading when warm.

No Blue. Horizontal Lines.

Not to me, but it also depends on if you could do this yourself or not. And the area you are in sometimes is responsible for the cost being high.

Mitsubishi ws-55813 horizontal hold

When you say horizontally, do you mean it collapse or it scrambles. Because the 2 are different problems. If you pictures shrinks or collapse then it is in the vertical circuit. and if it scrambles itself almost like you can see the picture but it is broken up over and over again, then this is video problems in video circuit. Intermintent picture

Check the horizontal output transistor this could be damage and causing the problem.another thing is pilot light that cause the screen to light up.since this is a projection t.v.it does not garry a tube.
