Is the led on the top of the projector blinkng at all? if there is no led lit, the fuse on the power supply may be blown or the power supply itself needs replacing. turn the projector on. you should hear the fans and a high-pitched whir. if you don't hear that whir or it sounds like a noisy motor, the colorwheel needs replacing. if it sounds good but no light, make sure you have the correct lamp. the x1a takes the sp-lamp-009 lamp. it should have 2 white wires, each at opposite ends of the plug. if you have a lamp with a red wire and a white wire, you have a lamp for an x2. also make sure the lamp door is closed completely. if the door is closed (hitting the switch), the lamp is correct, the led is green, and the sounds are good and it still does not light, the ballast is bad and needs replacing.

InFocus X1A - while watching, the picture went out and then the unit had a flashing red light where before its always been constant green indicating the unit was on. I dont have a manual. Any ideas?

check the lamp. if it has bulges, black spot, fogging, or flaking, or dust is clogging the side vent screen, replace the lamp. if the lamop is ok, check the colorwheel. if you hear a high-pitched whir, the wheel is ok. if you hear grinding or chirping or nothing at all, replace the colorwheel. if both are ok, replace the power supply. you can get parts from an infocus service center or send it to one for repair. either way, try av solutions in ny. they're really good. www.avsolutionsny.com

I have an Infocus X1a Video Projector. The bulb went out & then I heard a "pop" sound I assume that because it's not coming on the fuse is blown. What do you think? So I want to know where I can...

if there are no leds on the top, then you're right about the fuse. radio shack or any electronics store will carry them. it's a ceramic buss fuse. 5 amp, 250 volts. bring the fuse in to them and they're help you. there are places on line that will have them too, but shipping would cost more than the part itself. if the fans come on and no light, it may have just been the lamp.

Lamp burned out on X1 infocus projector, Replaced lamp, new lamp stopped working in about 5 hours, got another new lamp and it does not light at all. Still blinking 3 red blinks(saying the bulb is bad)

make sure the colorwheel is spinning. if it is not, replace it. also, blow the dust out of it with canned air. excessive dust kills lamps quickly. you'll also need to reset the lamp timer. are you using an sp-lamp-009? the sp-lamp-018 looks exactly like it, but is used in th x1a and x2. the x1 only uses the sp-lamp-009. if all else fails, replace the power supply.

I have the same problem as someone else has posted on this site. When I start up the projector, x1a, it goes directly to a faint white screen without any button response. With or without a video source...

replace the colorwheel. part # 525-0144-00. you can get it through av solutions in ny. www.avsolutionsny.com it's not that difficult to replace, but if you are unsure about it, you can send it it to them to repair as well. they are an infocus service center.

High pitch noise from the projector and is not from the fans

it's the colorwheel. if you have an infocus x1a, it is a dlp projector and has a colorwheel and dmd chip instead of 3 lcd panels. the colorwheel spins to allow the lamp to stike. it should make a slight high-pitched squeal. if it's too loud, the motor is shot and needs replacing.

Infocus X1a no picture, solid green LED

if the lamp is new, it could be the power supply (the ballast is built in to the ps). but make sure you have the right lamp. the X1 and X1a have an sp-lamp-019 and the similar X2 and X3 have an sp-lamp-018. the lamps are almost identical except for the wire configuration on the lamp plug. make sure the wires in the plug match the positions in the socket. also, when you turn it on, if you don't hear a high pitch squeal, the colorwheel is not working. and if that isn't working, the lamp won't either. also check to see if the lamp door is closing properly and hitting the switch at the top of the opening.

Infocus x1a fan replacement

Hi there

I just sent you an email through fixya and I don't know if it went through but I was just saying about the fan and the grey bar. The problem with the fan, is not the fan itself, but the controller board not supplying enough voltage to the fan (you can see this by powering the fan on its own using a 6volt supply, you will fine that the fan will work perfectly normal), thus having to replace the entire control board at around $650+, this is a very common fault for these models. The grey bar as meantioned in my post is caused by the faulty light tunnel, there is a link I've posted here somewhere which tells you how to fix it, but you need extremely strong glue and electronics skills lol, otherwise infocus wouldn't sell me the part on its own, only the whole optical enigne at another $450+. Very poor service in regards to infocus.

Cheers

You could most probably do that yes , it's normally only the Mainboard that is different.
