Optical pickup unit might be faulty. Try by cleaning the optical lens, by inserting a lens cleaning disc into the player and play ti at least 2 times. If this do not belp you; optical pickup unit [Laser reading unit] should be replaced.

use only original dvd cassettes orelse your players lens might got affected so check it first

The optical lens is defective try to clean it using a cotton bud but wipe it gently.

when it says wrong disc, optical pickup assy needs to be replaced J.D.W.

it is probly the parental setting in which you have to use password to change . if you lost -password then your shit out of luck so far just like me.
