>You need to install the drivers for Lightscribe; if you don't have them Google Lightscribe HP and you should find them on the HP website. Then you need a disk label burning program that runs Lightscribe. Droppix.com has a good one, I think HP also has a basic one.
Below is a link for the instructions to use Lightscribe. One thing people do not think about on this, do you have an actuall Lightscribe disk? These are the only disks that will allow you to create a lable in the Lightscribe drive.
I'd like to suggest information directly from the manufacturer of LightScribe - HP, (Don't forget to use HP LightScribe disks. They are the only ones you can use to burn to, and use the label marking feature)
I assume you want to use that drive so you can use it to label the CD/DVD you create. All you have to do, is create the disk on your laptop and then insert that very same disk upside down into the Lightscribe drive on the other computer and label it.
you need to launch the lightscribe software, insert the disk upside down (opposite to what we use when burning data into disk), select the image in the software and start burning.
I don't think the Lightscribe drivers are on the supplied HP disk. After 9+ hours with HP help (oxymoron) I finally went to www.lightscribe.com and got the drivers myself. They also had some really nice templates also. All free. Once I did that it worked.
