The buttons on the keypad for my D840 have suddenly stopped working. Phone is on and charged but none of the buttons are working. Any ideas?

the only thing that you can do is to change the hall keypad.
because if you take off one button, the hall keypad is going to get messed up

jd014e9445 - the power button needs to be resolder back on or replace....so take it to a mobile service center to have it rectify.

Take your phone to your local market & ask any market phone repair vendor to fit a new keepad membrane, if this doesn't work it's trobably irriparable damage either caused by water or the fumes of some kind of solvent for example super glue.

Sounds like your phone has a hardware problem.
But if your remove the battery and let it sit for a while, then replace the battery, see if it is better.
If not, take it back to your provider and they should replace the phone.
If your provider won;t replace it the manufacturer should.

i had the same problem but my problem was the touch wasnt working!!! inside the screen case there is a tiny black square it has summat 2 do with tht coz my touch stpd working and it was all coz of tht!!! i had 2 buy a new cover 4 my fone it also powers tha buttons so i wud get a new case ( ps.... not a protective case!! lol an actual body of it lol) hope i helped
