Question about Panasonic (TH-50PZ700U) Television

1 Answer

Panasonic th-50pz700u Plasma No Video on any inputs

Panasonic th-50pz700u 50" plasma. All inputs seemed to have stopped working. HDMI/Component/CATV Tuner all either display black screen or static scramblemed Pink/Green lines. The menu on the TV still works fine and can be read without issue. Also the SD card reader works fine and will display pictures from an SD card without issue. Ive unplugged and tried to reset with no avail.

SOURCE: Panasonic TV 50 inch plasma

I had the same problem and found that I was viewing the TV input instead of the composite input. Once I changed it back, the aspect setting would hold.

I have an older Panasonic TH-50PHD6 Plasma TV would like to add HDMI, any suggestions?

You can get HDMI switch which will allow several input to be selected to go to 1 output for little money.
Look on ebay.

1080P video via HDMI generates awful interference

Your Plasma's native resolution is 720P. Go into the Blu Ray's output setup. you can choose 480p 480i 720p 1080i and 1080p. Set it for 720p that should clear up the issue. You may have to run Component directly to the TV since you only have 1 HDMI input and you can run Digital coax or optical to your AV receiver for audio. On a 50" TV the difference between 720p and 1080p using "GOOD" cables cannot be seen by the human eye. Above 50, yes it is noticeable.
Hope this helps.

Blue screen

Are you using component video cables? If so, check that these aren't loose on either end. Next I'd consider that whatever video cable/input might be bad, and switch cable or cable type... i.e. switch from component to HDMI or vice-versa. Then change up the source (cable box versus DVD player). If you're still seeing blue at this point, the TV internals are the bad.
