Yes, I have the same problem. It's been off and on for a couple months now. In the past just jiggling the bottom drawer or banging around the back seemed to trigger it into working again:-) I know it's not the best solution, but we just don't have a clue to what could be wrong and it did work....until now, the weekend before the holidays, when I need it the most! If anyone has any suggestions besides going and buying a new stove, I would greatly appreciate it! My stove is a Kenmore 75190101.

I have a GE Profile Gas Range and recently while baking it turns off and sometimes comes back on by itself and sometimes I have to turn it back on. Any suggestions?? I have tried unplugging it so it resets itself as suggested but it still has the problem. Baking for the holidays has not been fun. My GE dishwasher was recently recalled. My suggestion would be not buy GE however, my Maytag Neptune washer was also recalled. Now my clothes smell after being in the dryer. Are there any appliances that are reliable anymore???? I buy expensive things but where is the quality??? HELP!!!

We have shut off the power and replugged it. Cannot get oven to light. There is gas coming in when we turn it on. Is there any steps we can take prior to calling a repair person? Thanks GE XL 44

I have the same oven. Three of the top burners will work one will not. The oven will not light - there is no gas coming from it that we can see. I ordered the parts to the oven with the promise that the instructions are included but they are NOT. I am trying to find the instructions for how to install/fix the glow bar. The parts I received are: cover valve, Valve Burner, and Switch burner. Are these even the correct parts??? I spent $82 dollars on them and was assured they were. Nice ordering from Sears huh??

I have XL44 oven JGBP26. I replaced the glow ignitore on the oven but still will not glow. I carfully tested the current to the ignitore and showed 125 volts, I also tested the resistance on the control valve lead and to ignitore and showed 1100.

Unplug the range.
Remove the oven racks.
remove the oven base pan.
remove the flame spreader pan.
remove the glow bar ignitor on the left hand side of the gas burner and replace it with a good ignitor.

Bottom burner in my oven barely comes on, in turn, not heating my oven to the temperature that is selected. Top burner (or broiler seems to work fine). The gas stove is a GE XL44 and is 6 years old. Please...

You need a new t-stat control. Your element is fine. Give us a call with your complete model number and we'll get the right part out to you asap to get you ready for the winter.

I have a GE XL44 gas stove the oven will not stay lite why?

That's bad. Sounds like the burner is dirty.
and the gas belive it or not is blowing the polit out it hit it so fast. The gas can't go in the burner. There should be two screws that hold it in place take it off and clean. See if that will work. Let me know.

Xl44 oven burner pulses, doesnt properly heat up.

it seems the burner in the oven is clogged, by grease, carbon or corrosion, it may need replacing, specialy if this is an older unit

Oven will not work

With a gas range, I wouldn't fool with it. Get a service man out there now! Gas stoves are great untill they malfuntion and need a qualified service person to check it out. It's cheep insurance if there is a gas leek causing the problem. The alternitive-------!
