Im having this exact same problem. So are alot of other people it would seem. i am having it with the same ports (hdmi no go , vga ok) and with a gateweay HD2201 as well. good job billy gates.

i do know if you cant find the drivers that disabling certain power saving features like "turn off display after...." or sleep, standby and hibernate will fix it . also, try taping over this pin in your hdmi cable: https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/getfile/71953

First shut down the pc and then plug in new monitor then boot up and see if windows 7 will auto find the monitor.

is this a single display or are you using 2 monitors, i had 2 monitors and used the other to change the display on mine when i had this problem i am also using windows 7 and reboot usually fixes display problems because it wont see old monitor any more and detect the new one.

also update any video drivers you have like nvidia or ati(catalyst controll center)

Where can I find the right driver to install a Viewsonic VE710b Flat Panel Monitor? I am running Windows 7, 64-bit **This connects to my VGA port, I already have 36" Samsung conntected via HDMI, and

Search Viewsonic.com. The Windows generic driver usually works. If you have a special video driver for your Samsung, it may be interfering. Multiple monitors have to be set up through your display driver. The viewsonic should be available through the device manager.

What cord do I need to connect my 1810 gateway monitor to my tower

Your either going to need VGA or DVI. You need to check the back of your computer and monitor to see which type of connection you have. Then plug in the appropriate cable.

I have a 19 inch Gateway HD monitor. The model number is LP1925. When I boot up everything is normal. However, after about 5 minutes the screen goes black. I can't get the picture back unless I pull out...

I see that this monitor has a DVI input, in additon to the VGA input. I suggest getting a suitable cable to use the DVI input, to see if the fault replicates. If it doesn't, you have identified the problem - an issue with the analogue signal processeing circuitry in either the monitor or the computer. The monitor's auto sleep analogue circuitry, for example, may not be sensing a signal, and going to sleep. BTW, if you use a DVI-DVI cable, you avoid the video signal ever going through an analogue stage, and the image will also be purer.

Hi I'm running dual AOC 2436Swa monitors on my Acer Inspire M3910. With a NVIDIA graphics card . Monitor one is connected via a VGA cable Monitor two is connected via a Digital Video Single LInk...

If the computer is running Windows 7 judging from the age of the computer you may need to update the operating system and then get new drivers for the NVIDIA card.

LG W2361V 23 Vga to HDMI Cable Not Working

You have a cable problem as no such thing as a VGA to HDMI cable exists.

HDMI is a didital signal and is thus not compatable with an anolog VGA signal. HDMI to DVI cables however do exist as both are digital signals.

Hope this helps.

LG W2261 + Windows Vista + Power saving mode

When you have access to windows, go to control panel and select Power options and change to time windows puts the monitor to sleep. You can set it so the monitor from a couple of minutes to never goes to sleep. This might help your problem.
