Why would My pfaff creative 2.0 shut all the way down and then restart? Sometimes it will do 5 - 7 times without being able to take a stitch.

Do you have a diagram of the buttons to click on to get the needle position to change in the Pfaff 1473?

The needle position of the Pfaff Creative 1473 can only be changed for straight stitches. Use the stitch width + button (the top of the pair of buttons in the middle of the row below the LCD display) to move the needle from left to right. The range of positions depends on your stitch choice. There are 19 positions available for stitch programs 01, 03, and 04. There are 17 positions available for program 05 (triple straight stitch). The stitch programs are indicated on page 2 (page 6 of the PDF) of the manual. The use of the stitch width buttons is on page 30 (page 34 of the PDF). See pages 50-53 for additional information. Different symbols will appear in the display to show the needle position (to the left, center or to the right).

The manual is available from Pfaff on the product page: https://www.pfaff.com/en-us/machines/creative-1473 . The current link to the manual is https://www.pfaff.com/SiteMedia/PFAFF/Products/Machines/Support-manuals/Creative_1473-manual-EN.pdf .

I hope this helps.

I cannot adjust bottom tension on Pfaff creative 1.5 straight stitch

Hello Mary Jane,
Are there loops on the underside of the stitching? This means that the top tension is too loose -- increase the needle tension.

Are there loops on the topside of the stitching? This means that the top thread is too tight -- decrease the needle tension.

The user manual refers to this on pages 30 and 35. The manual is available free at

Please give be a thumbs up if this is helpful, otherwise please provide more information.

I want a 1.8 stitch length to paper piece ... I can't figure out how pfaff creative changes to 1.8

..
Looks like your machine's stitch length ranges from 0-6 mm. So you are looking at something just under 2 mm--there very possibly is a 1.8 setting on your machine. Basically, your paper piecing instructions are telling you to set the machine to stitch somewhere between ~12 to 14 stitches per inch. The accuracy of 1.8 is Not that important. What they are trying to do is make sure your stitches are close enough together to make it easy to tear away the piecing paper. When using longer stitches for paper piecing, it is sometimes difficult to tear away the paper without pulling the thread stitches. Most garment stitching is set between 10-12 stitches per inch. So you want something just a little closer together, ie more stitches per inch. If you are concerned, try it out on a scrap piece of paper and fabric and try tearing it away. If it works, then that's all you need to use.

What number is satin stitch on Piaf quilt expressions 4.0

A satin stitch is simply a zig-zag stitch that is shortened enough so the threads lay next to each other without laying over another but also without any space (fabric) showing between. Keep in mind that the thread weight will cause the satin stitch to differ.

My Pfaff Creative Vision machine (2009 - recently serviced), shuts down and restarts after a few stitches.

If it was recently serviced, taking it back immediately to the technician may get it addressed at no additional cost.

Pfaff 360 automatic slows and stops after only minutes of use

Pfaff 360's don't like to sit, they like to drink. . .. oil.
Set top knob "C" to 0
Right top (zig-zag knob) set to 4, lever below but on the same dial points straight down. Set stitch length to 4. Run 5 minutes medium speed.

After that lift off the top cover and spray inside with "Tri-flow", then run a hairdryer on it for 20 minutes to warm up or set near a warm lamp overnight. Run daily 5-10 minutes and exercise the right knob between 0 and 4 (zig-zag). It should come back to working with oil, time, and heat.

Pfaff 7570 Sewing Slow

Unfortunately, this is most likely a computer board issue and there's just no way to predict if/when a board will go bad.

Your only option at this point is to take it to an authorized Pfaff dealer. If the person who serviced it was an authorized Pfaff tech, take it back to them. If not, do take it to a Pfaff dealer - non-Pfaff authorized techs are not trained on the machines.

Sorry I can't give you a simpler answer, but until this is corrected, your machine won't work properly.

Best,
Kim
