No 'make model (what it is)'!

Let's guess a lawn tractor? It's dangerous, people fall off them and get run over, kids and the pet rabbit get mangled, fences get knocked over.

You just bridge the wires.

Craftsman 917-388950 How does the operator presence control work?

Under the seat, there is a button type knob that pushes on the seat safety switch plunger. To get to this switch, the seat has to be removed. There under the seat you can see the white plastic knob holding the safety switch. When you sit in the seat the,the safety switch plunger is pushed in and completes the circuit allowing the tractor to start and run. When you leave the seat the plunger for the safety switch is released and the circuit is broken and the tractor motor quits. This is one safety switch of four switches in the electrical system. I have a craftsman riding mower model 247.288810. While cutting my lawn the engine all stalled and would not start anymore. I changed the spark plug and the battery is new, what could it be?

there are 3 safety switches, clutch, deck and seat, Craftsman 247288810 Lawn Tractor Parts
take the cover off so u can access the coil, unhook the black wire from the coil, not spark plug cable, try to start it,if it starts then a safety switch is bad,if it doesnt, then jump the solenoid,if it starts then it is the seat or clutch switch,if you want to bypass safety switches, connect a switch to the ground and coil

All riding mowers have a seat safety, blade engage safety and a brake clutch safety, some mowers have a reverse mowing safety. Seat under the seat, blade and brake you will have to check the linkages underneath, and if there is a reverse mowing one I have seen them near the shifter handle right under the fender.

I have a 1999 John Deere LT-133 when I put it in any gear or try to engage the blade the engine won't stay running. Do you have any solutions for this?

sounds like the safety switch under the seat may be bad. unhook and / or bypass the switch. if this fixes the problem then replace the switch. hope this helps you

Problem still exist, engine dies when brake relesases, blade engage, unplug safety switch under the seat

Switch under seat needs to be plugged in and make sure the pto lever for the blades is depressing the safety switch. If you are sitting on seat and seat switch is plugged in properly and it cuts off when brake is released then it is seat switch. It is about a $10.00 part; no big deal to replace.
