I have a belkin "N" connected to my modem in the house (laptop runs wireless from there) I want to hook up my belkin "G" to these in order to get internet in an outdoor building. I tried just putting ethernet from "N" into "G" and loading, but it doesn't work. HELP!
As far as I know it would not work due to auto configuration of DHCP settings in the router when using cable internet. You may have to manually configure this to get it to work. If you are using dsl, I dont think it will work at all.
If it was to work, this is how I would do it:
Using Cat 5 cabling
Modem -> N Router -> G Router
Be sure to plug modem into the uplink port on N router. Then go from port 1 on N router to uplink on G Router. Set both routers to DHCP setting and see if that works. Im going to try this when I get home. It actually sounds ideal, never thought of it myself.
Hope that works for you!
