Quite simply you locate the leak and replace the hoses, gaskets or the part that is leaking.

A trick is to slip some paper under it and pull it out after a few minutes to see the area of the leak. Then you can pull the machine out and tip it back against the wall to check the location.

Check hoses and connections, replace faulty parts such as a damaged inlet valve, pump, or tub seal.

Leaky washer

Janet I am VERY SURPRISED at this Whirlpool would do this...Shame on it! LOL. OK, Enough goofing around! Da Problem is Z in the Tub! It can be the following 1) Tub Seal (Most common) 2) Pump not draining (Second Most) 3) Washer exterior Drain to house. I forgot to mention this Is Very Common!. Janet these are the Easy fixes. The hard ones involve the tub being cracked (OMG!) or hose connections are cracked to/from washer and interior. Using the Wrong Soap! I know it is a reach but I have to mention it. If it is not the tub seal or the tub. You Gotta problem and you have to weigh the age of your washer vs purchasing a New one. If it is less than a yr old the Manufacture will take care of it. If you call Sears, plan on at least around $130+Parts. That may Pay for itself cause the person repairing it will guarantee the work. Good luck

Need to change a washer on a leaky tap in kitchen sink

You will need to shut the water line off and disconnect from the faucet. Then you will need to unscrew the nut holding the faucet in place. Take the faucet out and then you will be able to disassemble the faucet and replace the washer. Newer faucets use a cartridge with the washer built in.

Finding water in the washer after it sits idle for a few hours. Wife tells me that she completes a wash cycle as normal, moves the clothes to the dry emptying the washer. Then later in the day she returns...

yes its a leaky solenoid water inlet valve, shut off each water fill valve after using the machine and check the drum later to see if its still empty, then do the other4 valve and when you find water then thats the leaky valve, don't try to clean it,just replace the entire valve

Washer problem

If it makes a squeaky sound the belt could be loose or worn or wearing out. It it leaks out the bottom it could be a worn out or loose hose, or a leaky seal. The hose is easy. The seal is difficult.
