Hi there. Norway here. I have this Jvc camera GR-D239E in safemode 06. Havent used it for many years. But now i want to get all video of my kids on to the pc. BUT........First there was a problem getting the cassett out, and the door was stuck open. Couldnt close it either. And something was loos inside. Got it out and then the door worked fine. And now the video showes for a second and it shuts down. Safemode 06, replace battery shows up on screen. I dont know if this is a part of the camera, or is it just something that was stuck when it was in storage? Its black rubber on the outside and metallic inside. And hollow inside, like its suppose to be on something. Wish i could put a picture of it together with this question.....Sorry for my bad explanation in english.. Hope you understand. Could this be whats wrong with the camera? And, of course i have tried the solution in the manual. Does not work. I see a image for a second when i press play, then it shuts down. When i press rewind i sounds like it is stuck, and cant go round or something..
Safemode 06 on JVC camcorders usually indicates a problem with the tape transport mechanism. It could be a mechanical issue or an electrical issue. It's possible that the black rubber you found inside the camera was a part of the tape transport mechanism that came loose or broke off. It's also possible that there is some debris or dirt stuck in the tape transport mechanism, preventing it from functioning properly.
One thing you can try is to clean the tape transport mechanism with a soft brush or compressed air. Be careful not to touch any of the delicate parts inside the camera. You can also try using a different tape to see if the problem is with the tape itself.
If cleaning the tape transport mechanism and using a different tape doesn't solve the problem, it may be necessary to take the camera to a professional for repair. They will be able to diagnose the issue more accurately and determine if any parts need to be replaced.
