6 months ago refrigerator section froze up, pulled plug and plugged back in and it corrected. No error code. 4 days ago refrigerator and freezer were too warm, again unplugged and re-plugged and all corrected. Again no error code. Yesterday received first ever error code ER DH, which I understand is a defrost error. Again unplugged and re-plugged and all was well for several hours. Then the same error code. Kinda sounds like the main board is faulty. Any thoughts?
It is more likely that the defrost timer, or the defrost heater has failed. When either fail, frost builds up on the evaporator fins and blocks cold air from entering the fridge. Both can be tested by a service tech very easily.
Based on the symptoms you described, it is possible that the main control board of your Kenmore refrigerator is faulty. The fact that unplugging and replugging the fridge appears to have temporarily fixed the problem suggests that the issue could be related to the electrical components on the board.
The ER DH error code you received indicates that there is a problem with the defrost circuit. This circuit is responsible for melting any frost that may accumulate on the evaporator coils in the freezer, which can lead to a build-up of ice that affects the fridge's ability to cool.
A faulty main control board can cause issues with various parts of the fridge, including the defrost circuit. If you have already tried unplugging and replugging the fridge and the error code persists, it may be worth contacting a professional technician to diagnose the issue and possibly replace the control board if necessary.
