If the front panel display on your Technics SA-AX6 is not turning on even though you have replaced the display board and verified that the ribbon cable is not broken, there may be an issue with the power supply or the main control board. It's possible that a component on one of these boards has failed, preventing the display from receiving power or a signal. You may need to take the receiver to a professional repair shop for further diagnosis and repair.

Overload

Is she over-heating - if not then there is a very serious problem with the receiver's power supply internally - so you are well and truly 'scuppered'!
Only answer will come from that very friendly repair man down the street!

My tuner will play for a short time (fm radio)then shut off with a loud click and the message "OVERLOAD" appears on the display. Help! Thanks.

This is a common question on this site. Amps of all types have protection circuits to keep them from doing a self meltdown. Testing follows this logic.
1. Remove all speaker wires. 2. Keep the volume down - all the way. 3. Turn the unit on. 4. If it does not trip off, then there is a problem either in a speaker or the wiring. a. Reconnect one at a time until/unless it trips off b. That will tell you where to look further.
If it does trip off, then there is an internal circuit issue in the amp and probably requires professional help to fix.

The RCA connector for the center channel input is going bad. Is it cheaper to buy a new, comparable receiver, or try to fix the connector problem?

The cost???

These types of questions are nearly impossible to answer without an eyeball on the unit, if even then.

If it's just the physical connector (are you sure?) and its solder points are fairly accessible, probably cheap.

After that, who knows? Andwe don't know how much you would spend on a replacement receiver.

I'd take it to a technician and get an opinion.

Technics SA-810 receiver-no sound

For the question at the top you most likely blew your computer chip on the Technics sa 810, we have 2 of these receivers and one lost it left channel and the green auto light went out, we have taken it to several places and they ended up having to turn down the power. now it is working great sounds the same just needs more volume level, but it ended up costing $500 CAD, you can't get the auto to work any more, you will most likely need a new stereo, The Technics SA 810 is an awesome receiver, good luck fixing it
