Dcs wo-230ss double ovens shut off/dead after having both at 500 making pizzas; now what? It did not trip the circuit breaker as it wasn't in "off" position. I reset it anyway, but the unit is still dead.

More than likely you have tripped the house circuit breaker or fuse. If you know where the house fuse box or circuit breaker panel is check to see if either one side of the two 240 fuses is blown or one of the two tied together circuit breakers is tripped. If it is a breaker then shut off both breakers completely and then snap them both on completely or they won't reset. It is rare that an oven has a fuse internally. There can be thermal fuses but they will trip when the temperature is out of range.

Warning! To avoid personal injury or even death, always disconnect your appliance from its power source--that is, unplug it or break the connection at the circuit breaker or fuse box--before you do any troubleshooting or repair work on your appliance. Also, because some components may have sharp edges, use caution while working on your appliance.
Hi, Check to see if there are any lights working, such as the ones that come on when you open the oven doors. If there is absolutely no power going to the unit, check the household circuit breaker panel that services the oven. An oven works at 240 volts so the circuit breaker for it will be a double breaker, similar to the ones electric water heaters or air conditioning units. It may have tripped. If it is tripped, then the lever connecting the two sides of the breaker will not line up with other breaker switches in the breaker panel. If that is the case, shut down the breaker completely and then after about 10 seconds, turn it back on. If it will not stay on, there is an electrical problem in the circuit going to the oven or the oven itself. Hope this helps. Let me know if your need more help. Best, Mark
I just did this same repair...same part number as above (Part #211696 "Electronic Oven Control, Double).
to install you have to remove two screws on the top of the display section of the oven, as well as several screws on the bottom of it, and the screws holding the close pin/temperature probe socket.
Then you can pull off the whole top section (slowly) and remove the two connectors to the existing control unit.
Then release the ribbon cable connected to the control unit on the inside of the top section (press the two small pins inward and slide up the small front section of the black socket to release the ribbon connector.
Unscrew the old control panel, screw in the new one, connect the ribbon, and then reverse removal steps. Easy!
there are 2 screws at the top outside and 2 or 3 on the bottom of the display panel. remove those and the panel should lift off the mount. remove the ribbon cable and 4 screws for the display and replace.
F7 stands for a faulty touch pad, faulty clock or both. Usually it's the touch pad. Most manufacturers recommend replacing both of the components. First, because they make more money that way, and second, it's the easiest (although more expensive) way to fix this problem. If you'd rather try and save some $$$, you can perform the following test and hopefully identify which of the two components needs to be replaced.
The test...
Disconnect the power to the oven before performing any repairs. Something triggers the clock to display F7 error code. You can unplug the touch pad from the clock and see if F7 comes back on. If it does, the clock is bad. If it does not, the touch pad is bad.
Hope this helps,
