You can use the EDATE function to quickly add or subtract months from a date. The EDATE function requires two arguments: the start date and the number of months that you want to add or subtract. To subtract months, enter a negative number as the second argument. For example, =EDATE("9/15/19",-5) returns 4/15/19.

I assume that the dates you want adjust are in date form and are in regular columns (or rows).
If so, then you can use a formula like this =DATE(YEAR(A3)+1,MONTH(A3),DAY(A3))
where the original date is in cell A3.
You can then copy this formula to calculate all the new dates you need, and then copy the results back over the original dates as VALUES.

Calculation of end date in format dd/mm/yy

Assuming you put the start date in cell A1, put this formula:

=DATE(YEAR(A1),MONTH(A1)+15,DAY(A1))

in the cell where the result wanted to be appeared.

Converting date of a month to last working day of the month

use the below formula to get the date of the LWD (Monday thru Friday) of the month.
Assumed that if the date in cell A1 is 6-May-2005. then formula will be
=DATE(YEAR(A1),MONTH(A1)+1,0)-(MAX(0,WEEKDAY(DATE(YEAR(A1),MONTH(A1)+1,0),2)-5))

There is always multiple solutions, but here is one...

Add a row (that can be hidden later if you want) where you have the full date (01/01/09). For this example it will be row "C." Then use Conditional Formatting with the function:

=weekday(C$2,2)>5.

Need to Add Dates in Excel

Here is one way I just tried:

Say the date purchased is in A1.

You want the Est Life in A2.

In A2 type: =A1+(3*365)
That will add 3 years.

For 5 years: =A1+(5*365)

Try it out!

Note: You will need to format the cells to Custom>mm/dd/yyyy

Hi Chinnu,

For this you will have to install an Add-in called Analysis Tool Pack.

Kindly follow the below instructions:

1. Open Excel Options (Menu-Excel Options)
2. Click on Add-Ins on the side pane of the Excel Options Window
3. Check to see if Analysis ToolPak is in Inactive application add-in list.
4. If is not, proceed to Step 7
5. If it is in the inactive application add in list, Select Excel Add-ins against Manage and click on "Go"
6. In the add-ins menu check Analysis ToolPak and Analysis ToolPak VBA and click OK
7. Use this formula to find the number of work days excluding Saturday & Sunday in a month

=NETWORKDAYS(start_date,end_date, [Holidays])

In your case give the start date as 1st July and end date as 10th July and Holidays as 0 or 1 (doesn't matter). The answer it will return will be 8 days.

Unable to Change Dates

Hi,
I am using MS-2007, i got the solution upto some level only.
i can't say exactly whether it is right or not.
my solution is :

first change the settings in ControlPanel/Regional and Language Options.
Click on Customize button/open the Date Tab and set the date format there.
and then proceed with CSV.
Open CSV in Excel and divide Text to coloumns.
Ur all Date Cells will be in particual Format.
and Select that coloumns and right click Format Celss....etc.

Functions

The eomoth function returns the last day of the month.
Use EOMONTH to calculate maturity dates or due dates that fall on the last day of the month.

eomonth (1/2/08, 1) will return 31. The number of days in the month.

eomonth (1/2/08, 2) will return 59, The number of days in the month plus the next month (February)
