Check sensor wiring for breaks or disconnection. Replace sensors which are available at Home Depot .

There could be a few reasons why you have to hold down the wall control button to close your garage door but the easiest one to rule out is misaligned safety sensors.
When you hold down the button on the control panel, you are overriding the safety feature and telling the opener no matter what is in the way just close the door.
Here are a few things to look for when checking the sensors:

1. Clean the sensor's lens and make sure dust, webs, and other debris is not obstructing the lens view.
2. If there are objects around the sensors that you move in an out of the garage (i.e. shovels in the winter, rakes in the summer) put them elsewhere. You may unknowingly hit the sensors and knock it out of alignment.
3.. Most, if not all, sensors have an indicator light that tells you they are functioning. One is usually green and one is red/orange. If one or both are not lit, adjust the sensors (one or both) until the lights come on. Then tightly fasten the bracket screw to make sure the sensors are secured in place.

I have a liftmaster garage door opener - the door opens fine but I have to hold the enter key or wall button until the door closes.

By holding down the wall button you are bypassing the photo sensing safety eyes. Look at them at the bottom of the track. Both should have an led light on them and both should be lit. If not try to realign them. If this does not work look at the actual sensors and the wiring for damage. You can test these with a 9v battery. If they are not good you can get replacement units at chamberlain.com, they are sold in pairs. Thanks. BB

If the main light flashes 10 times when you try to close the door it is a sensor problem. Make sure they are not flickering ever so slightly and that they are not loose on their brackets. Tweak them a little bit.

Wall mount button LED is flashing, remotes won't work, door won't close unless the wall mount button is held down until the door is fully closed

Sounds like you have a couple problems. First of all press and hold the button on the wall control that has a lock icon for 3 seconds and release. This should take care of the flashing LED and the remotes will now work. Having to hold the button on the wall control until the door is closed is usually a problem with the door sensors. Make sure they are pointed at one another and the small light on each is lit and not flickering.

your infrared sensor is either misaligned, faulty, or you have a broken wire from your sensor to your door opener. Chamberlain Liftmaster Pro. Garage door Problems closing

The sensor eye - or more likely, the other end, the sensor light - probably got knocked out of alignment. The eye should have an LED on it - possibly one that glows green when it's ready to close or red when it's obstructed or out of alignment. Try adjusting the light until the LED on the receiver glows green.

Door will only close when held down

That normally happens when the sensors aren't aligned. Both sensors have led lights on them the yellow/orange one will stay on all the time the green one will go out if it cant see the other sensor. Possibly theres a wire that's broken or the other sensor is really out of alignment. Check every inch of wiring from the sensor to the opener, remove wire nuts if present and check the connections. The wires that are used are small, solid and can break easily. Also see if there's a staple that's too tight, move the wire abit where it's stapled and look for damage.
