If your Amana dryer shuts down after about 20 minutes and restarts after it cools down, there could be a problem with the thermal fuse, which is designed to prevent the dryer from overheating. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:

  1. Check the thermal fuse: Use a multimeter to test the thermal fuse for continuity. If the thermal fuse is blown, replace it with a new one.
  2. Check the dryer vent: A clogged or restricted dryer vent can cause the dryer to overheat and shut down. Clean the dryer vent to remove any lint or debris.
  3. Check the cycling thermostat: The cycling thermostat controls the temperature inside the dryer. If it's not working properly, it could cause the dryer to overheat. Test the thermostat for continuity and replace it if necessary.
  4. Check the heating element: A broken or defective heating element can cause the dryer to overheat. Use a multimeter to test the heating element for continuity.
If none of these steps resolves the issue, it's best to contact a professional technician to diagnose and repair the problem.

Yes, it does.

Air conditioner cools for 30 minutes then stops cooling after 20 minutes starts cooling again what is likely problem

The compressor motor is over heating and thermal protection shuts it down , when it cools down it restarts. Restricted air flow over the cooling coils could be the cause. Check filter,Sometimes furniture or other things block the return air vent.

The dryer runs for a few minutes then shuts off and restarts in a few more minutes8xcccxb2

Sounds like your motor is getting hot, shutting down to cool off and coming back on. This is a motor that will have to be replaced. On some models the only other thing is could be would be the thermal link that is usually located on the back of the dryer. This would definitely be the cheaper part to replace. If possible, jumper around this thermal link, if it still does the same thing you will more than likely have to replace the motor. Good luck I hope this helps.

My dryer will run for about 20 minutes and then shut itself off. I cannot turn it back on for at least an hour as the 'done' buzzer will buzz and the dryer will not turn back on. Does anyone have any...

If it happens during the auto-drying cycle, the moisture sensor could be faulty.

If it happens during the timed cycle, the operating thermostat may be faulty. A faulty operating thermostat can fail to turn the heaters off and allow the dryer to get too hot. When this happens, the high limit thermostat will turn off the machine. After it cools down, it will start again.

Hi, Check the door switch and the fuse. The fuse is the most common cause. You can also let the dryer cool down for an hour and see if it will restart. If it restarts, the motor might be going bad. It is hard to say without model# I'm afraid. I have not heard of a top load dryer but, these are common things to check.
Please let me know if I can assist you further.

Shutting off every 20 minutes

Your thremal fuse is getting hot. OR There are overloads attached to the element housing and one of them is getting hot and automatically resetting itself once it is cooled.
