If your remote works fine but the panel controls on your TV won't work, it could be due to a few different potential issues. First, check the batteries in the remote and make sure they are fresh and inserted correctly. If the batteries are fine, then it could be a faulty connection between the TV and the remote. To troubleshoot this, try unplugging the TV and plugging it back in. If that does not work, then a qualified technician may need to investigate the issue further.

Have zenith tv with zenith remote working fine. Wrong buttons were pushed trying turn off tv in the dark. Now remote doesn't work. Good batteries. H24F36DT. Ztv. And Zenith tv remote! Non universal..!

I don't have one of these, so a couple of guesses: turn on TV from front panel and attempt to turn off from remote. If that doesn't work turn on TV from front panel and look for setup menus which may have gotten trashed somehow. Take batteries out of remote and leave out for an hour. to see if it resets itself. Have you called Zenith help line?

How to reprograme lg remote after replacing the power supply board? the remote no longer works

If the remote control is the original one for this TV; a firmware update might be necessary after the main board replacement. If the remote control is a universal type, you might have to set-it up with the set-up codes stated for LG again.
If you wish to get more details; check the sites linked here. It has set-up code list & set-up procedure to many popular brand remote controls. Common codes to check devices with different brand TVs are given, in the order of the device's brand name list in alphabetical order. Pull up older posts. Surf the site with patience.

I have had several technicians at my parents house they have a sanyo pdp42xr9da with remote rcj17oa the remote dosent talk to tv we have had the tv for two years it did work but now dosent please suggest...

Most of the fault in this kind of symptoms is the remote control itself.
To confirm it, aim directly the remote control to your cellphone camera and press any button key at the remote control. While pressing the button key, you will be able to see the flash of the infrared indicating that the remote control is working fine. If you can't see the flash of the infrared this is an indication that the remote control is already faulty.

Remote control

If you've confirmed that the remote control is working fine, then the fault came from the infrared receiver(sensor) of your tv. It needs to check by the qualified technician to isolate the problem.
Feel free to ask question of you need further assistance.

Remote won't work. Tried new batteries, reprogramming, etc. Universal Remote doesn't work either. LG #42PC5DC

Hi,
To confirmed if the remote control is working fine, aim the remote control sensor(IR emitter) directly to your cellphone camera. While pressing any button key on the remote control, you can see the flash of an infrared emitted by the remote control if it is working fine.

If you've confirmed that the remote control emitted an infrared but still the tv won't communicate with it, this is an indication of faulty IR sensor board of the TV. Check if there's an obstruction from the IR receiver in front. Keep away all of it, clean the plastic window of the IR receiver with soft clean cloth.
If the symptoms still persist, you have to replace the IR sensor board. Check the actual part no. of the board before ordering.

Hope I helped you.
Have a nice day!
Thanks for using Fixya.

My remote control stops working every few months or so, then starts working again. My warranty goes out this month. Just have a service call and the tech left me another remote, but I'm afraid this will...

The remote interface of the TV died on mine, it was intermittent then it stopped completely. Remote control is fine, it's the remote sensor in the TV itself.

The volume is turning itself down all by itself. The volume on the remote won't work, but the remote is fine with the other TV controls.

It sounds like the button is stuck. Take the remote apart if you can and see if the key is stuck somewhere. This happened to me once with a rubber key type of remote. It drove me crazy.
