You can find volume and balance control components for the NAD 1300 preamp from a variety of sources. You can check with NAD directly, or look for parts on websites such as eBay or Amazon. Additionally, you may be able to find parts from audio/electronics shops in your local area.

NAD C162 preamp quiescent noise level suddenly went up. Please help me diagnose?

If the noise is in both channels then you should look for something common to both channels. Capacitors are the likely cause, but some IC's might cause it. You say that the volume control doesn't effect it, if that is the pre-amp's volume control then the fault will be after that part.

I have a old NAD 1300 pre amp. I need to replace the volume rheostat where can i buy the part?

Hi, for the price of servisol you may as well buy a brand new pot. The nad uses a dual carbon pot. Any electronics shop should have one.
Is it a pcb mounted type or one with loot solder tags?
A couple of quid, but if you want to upgrade, then spend around a tenner and get an alps conductive plastic pot.
Try this:-

OR:-

Have a look on ebay, there should be loads.

Just found this mod.

How do you connect power amp to av

I presume you want to use it to drive speakers from a source controlled by the Denon??? Probably the Front channels? We'll assume that's it...

Run RCA cables from the Pre Out jacks to the NAD's L and R inputs. If it has a volume control, set the NAD to its maximum volume (for consistency *), run through the setup for levels and you're done.

* If it doesn't have a volume control it's already set to max. That's normal for power amps. Your receiver / preamp controls the volume fed to them.

BTW: If you're thinking of using two sets of Front channel speakers simultaneously you'll have to choose a level on the NAD that will match up with the others in volume.

Connecting NAD 314 Receiver\ preamp to Carver M-500t to speakers

Dear Tim,
Yes, you can connect your NAD as a preamp to the Carver power Amp.

Connect the NAD's pre-out to the input of the Carver Power Amp. You can then connect the Klipsch speaker to the Carver. Set the gain control on the NAD.

Now you should be able to control all the input and the main volume control from the NAD.

Sound through one channel

Only the right channel had a sound, the left channel is mute, whatever adjustment you did and whatever balancing you done nothigs happen, even you interchange the speakers. The problem is in the power amp. The STK IC there is busted already, it's better to change it with a new one so the performance become normal again.
