How long since a tune-up? I always check codes even if lite isn't on?
Make sure battery has a full charge. Have a helper crank it while you check primary voltage at distributor, dark green wire with orange tracer, use a test lite, is that wire hot? Check the same color wire at fuel injector. If no voltage, that voltage comes from asd relay. With a lot of Chrysler vehicles, the computer has to see both the cam and crank sensor signals or it won't ground the asd relay. The asd relay supplies voltage to several major systems. Just my opinion.
Sounds like a bad thermocouple. You bypass the thermocouple holding the button down and allow the thermocouple to heat up which in turn signals your system to allow for gas to continue flowing. It's a safety device to shut off gas flow in event your pilot light is unintentionally blown out. They are typically a simple fix to replace however there's no mention of what appliance you are attempting to light so my recommendation is to contact the appropriate service technician and have the do the repair for you. Thermocouples are typically inexpensive parts.
its many thing could go wrong, from simple as gas cap to a major repair but you need to scan it ,go to nearest autozone they do it for free to scan your car and post the code here so we can help u better.
I guess I could buy into the timing belt idea. But, if it runs ok all other times, its not the timing belt. Especially if it idles ok and has power once it gets going. How many miles on it? Is the check engine light on?
I have a 01 pt that did the same thing. By you're exhaust manifold there is a thick wire set with loom over it. Pull it back and check the orange wire. It controls the crankshaft Senor mine was burnt through. Easy fix black tape and a price of wire, spliced it together and was good to go. But I relocated the wire off my exhaust
Turn the Battery around. Or if that has been tried,
Lightly Bend the terminals that lay on top or under the battery. They shoud make contact with the battery on the top or bottom. And on the side.
