If it is electronic ignition this is normal. If it is a standing pilot then you have a problem with the gas valve. With electronic ignition this will light the pilot on a call for heat.
My manual shows three possibilities: 1) Insufficient fresh air available for combustion, so ODS kicks off gas flow 2) Low gas line pressure (should be between 11 and 14") or 3) ODS/Pilot is partially clogged. Toll free number for ProCom is 877-886-5989.
From my memory, this is an unvented model. The ODS could be bad and turning off the unit or you could be experiencing a bad thermocouple. If there is any way to temporarly bypass the ODS, I would try this first. Do not run this unit unattended. If the unit stays on when the ODS is bypassed, you found your problem. If not, change out the thermocouple. It is a small diameter copper probe that goes from the gas valve up to the pilot light.
Good Luck.
