I have an RCA remote for an old RCA DVD player. The remote is not working.
I've changed the batteries and have followed youtube video instructions from two different videos. For awhile the remote was working. Now it is not. Is there anything I can do to get it to work? Or should I order a replacement remote?
Thanks for your help.

Re:
If you point it at your camera on your phone, if it is transmitting, you will notice the remote flashes.
Either way it is probably faulty and a replacement is required.

you can just buy an Android-based phone, and download a piece of free remote control apps as well as installing it on your phones.

I would say the easiest way is to buy an inexpensive universal remote. Keep the receipt in case it does not work. If the remote does not work with the system then simply return it, and try another.
Although this might seem like a headache it can be better then sitting up all night trying codes that will never work for the DVD Player you have. I have been through this frustration before.
Some DVD players are hard to match with remote. Have you contacted the manufacture to see if they know a remote model that will be compatible with the equipment you are using?
Some of their very old sets the video input was located on channels in the 90's; Try scrolling down from 99 to 90 to see if you locate the video input; this is just the way they did things in the older sets.
Before you rate this solution let me know what you find first.
To make sure the remote works or not. See if it blinks if you shoot the pointy end to a mobile phone in camera mode. If it's working fine there, some other issue. At least you know if it's a battery thing.
Go to http://remotefinder.rca.com/default.aspx?site=RCA follow instructions choose remote type you have then type of device u want 2 program remote for and then choose brand of that device and try the codes; simple
