Jake brakes are controlled by electro-mechanical solenoids that are screwed in the Jake housings on top of the camshafts and rocker arms. Oil passes through these solenoids when they are switched on, and oil pressure is what opens your exhaust valves up to use the engine as a brake. Sounds like you have one or more of these solenoids that are stuck on, letting oil by all the time. Another thing could be a bad Jake Brake On/Off switch, letting power by even if it's off... (doubt that would be it though, but it could be)
You'll need to have someone scan the engine and body computers to get the trouble codes. The ESC and ABS could be on because of a problem connected to the engine computer, or they could have their own issues in addition to the engine. All three systems work together.
could be an issue with the body controller. try a battery disconnect and see if it solves your issue. remove both battery terminals and touch them together. wait about 5 seconds them put the positive back on, then the neg. this will reset the bcm. if the cluster works the bcm may be on its way out.
You would need to have someone scan the body computer to check for codes. Most code readers will not access body computers. The cruise would stop working if the ABS light came on for safety reasons.
Hi, without a rocker arm, the valve would stay closed. As the lash adjusters may have been loose for a while, check the camshaft lobes for wear as well as the rockers themselves. Look around for other stuff the rocker may have damaged while bouncing around in the valve cover. Replace all of the lash adjusters, making sure to put the rockers back on their original valves. Not sure you need to pull the heads. Why don't you put it back together and run a compression test. If compression is good, valves are probably fine.
