Garmin nuvi 50LM cant access on mtp settings

I can not open mtp setting in garmin nuvi 50LM. I am trying into volumen screen touching up and right bug nothing. Is another way?

To open the MTP settings on your Garmin Nuvi 50LM, you will need to access the device's menu. From the main menu, select the "Settings" option and then select the "System" option. From there, you should be able to access the MTP settings. If you are still unable to access the settings, you may need to contact the manufacturer for assistance.

Do a hard reset.

To hard reset your Garmin nuvi 50LM, do the following instructions
  1. Start with the device OFF and unplugged from power.
  2. Touch and hold the lower right corner of the screen with an index finger or the eraser end of a pencil.
  3. Continue touching and holding the lower right hand corner of the screen then power the device ON.
  4. Release the power button when the device powers ON. You will see a new message: "Erase all user data?"
  5. Remove your finger from the touch screen when this message displays.
  6. Touch Yes.
The device will now reset. Follow the on-screen prompts and then place your device in an area with a clear view of the sky until it acquires satellites.

I am trying to factory reset my garmin Nuvi 50lm. It is powered off for certain, and used my finger, a pencil eraser to hold down the bottom right corner for several min, nothing happens.
If you've tried the normal reset (hold bottom right corner of the touch screen while powering on) and that has not worked, it is time to talk to Garmin.

Hopefully, your unit is still supported and they can repair it.

If your unit is out of warranty or no longer supported, the ultimate "hard-reset" is to open the unit and physically disconnect the battery lead from the circuit board. There are videos on You-Tube.

My Nuvi 1340 screen went bright white when turned on last week - no supported - now in the bin!

Where do I find nuvi directory
If you want to delete files, connect the Nuvi to your computer with the appropriate USB cable. Then double left-click on the File Explorer for the system (Computer/My Computer on Windows). This is just a double click on a Macintosh system. Then double left-click on the Nuvi; it will be in the removable storage list (like a USB flash drive). Then, if needed, open a folder and then single click on the file to delete. Press the Delete icon or your keyboard's Del key. (Right-click and choosing delete works on Windows.) Be careful that you do not delete a system file from the Nuvi. The file may not be saved in the trash for restoration. Then use the Trash (Mac)/Eject (or Safely Remove Hardware) for Windows to disconnect the Nuvi from your computer.

If you just want to reset a Setting to the factory defaults, do not connect to a computer. From the Nuvi's screen, select Settings and then a category (if needed). Then choose Restore.

When I select my Trip Log for a restore, there is no way that the trace lines can be erased on my garmin Muvi 50LM. I need to delete these lines without restoring everything from the beginning.
Just turn the lines off. At the main menu, press the settings/wrench button, then the map button and then press the button under the trip log text. Set it from SHOW to HIDE.

There are two different things to try.

1. Do a hard reset, that should restore the software and maps to their base condition.

2. Run Garmin Express and apply any updates it shows.

Select Settings from the Menu Page. The "Settings" tab may show a wrench icon to the right of the main screen or at the bottom of the main screen depending on the model of your Garmin GPS.

Touch Display from the Settings menu.

Click Touch Screen from the Display menu and press Recalibrate.

Follow the prompts to realign your touch screen so it responds correctly to your touch.
