1. AC adapter failure.
2. Power jack failure.
3. Motherboard failure.

Possible troubleshooting steps and repair solutions:
1. Test the Acer Aspire 5920 ac adapter with a digital multimeter. It's possible that you have a failed AC adapter. If you don't have a multimeter, test your laptop with another known good AC adapter.

2.It's possible that power jack (socket where you plug the AC adapter) is broken. Remove the motherboard and take a closer look at the power jack. In some cases you can fix the jack by resoldering it on the motherboard. In other cases you have to replace the jack with a new one. Using a multimeter, test if the power goes to the motherboard through the jack.

3. If replacing the AC power adapter and jack on the motherboard doesn't help, most likely you have a bad motherboard. Replace the motherboard.

My Acer aspire 5750z wont turn on. I have plugged the AC adaptor in and all I get is a nlue light a the from of the laptop. If I take the battery out adn then plug in the adaptor, I don't get an

I have several starting problems with my Acer Aspire. To start with,my On Switch doesnt work so I removed the strip cover and use a matchstick (the non-red end) to push the round black dot in a small square at the extreme top right- hand corner above the keypad. Sometimes it's my adapter lead which works with other laptops so I figure it must be the laptop connection. I keep wiggling the adapter lead close to the laptop connection and push it in hard. My lead is the rotating kind so I try very hard not to move it once connected. Also because I"ve removed the start cover. I have to softly clean the connectors at the top lefthand side and the right.
Hope one of these things help you and you don't have all three problems as I do.

My acer 5920 wont charge or wont work on ac adaptor but the ac adaptor works fine on my friends laptop

Either the AC port on the back of your laptop has a lose connection - if operation without battery is an issue, or if battery charge only is issue - then battery may have to be reseated or it is at end of life. Test by removing battery and running AC alone. if connection port is bad, laptop will power off immediately/unexpectedly. Good luck! btw - batteries for this unit are around $40 on ebay

No power and the adaptor etc. is working okay

if the battery is old it may need to be replaced
have the voltage checked on that first

Acer 5920 -The power suddenly went off.

Probably this is due to surge current happend in the circute, butter not to switch on your lap. consult the service centre. Its is better not use the same adaptor for more troble shooting.
