Question about GE Microwave Ovens
I have a GE profile advantium 120 PSB1201NSS01 microwave from 2009. Display is out, no oven operation but the turntable runs when the door is closed. The display and operation worked a few times when closing the door and flickered when I was checking the door switches. I figured it must be bad switch so I replaced them but still no display or operation. But the turntable still runs when closed. Pushing the touchpad I can hear faint clicks. Any ideas? Prior to this answer, I was thinking relay board so I took it onto look at. Confirmed part number and reinstalled the relay board and the unit worked. A few days later it went out again but the turntable wasn’t turning on its own. Then this morning the display was on like everything was ok. It ran for less than 30 seconds, everything shut down and then came back on with power failed while cooking message. The same thing happened again after about 5 seconds and then it ran for 3 minutes until we stopped it. Everything seems ok again. I haven’t seen reference to that error message anywhere yet. I’m not sure what to check. Still go to cut out switches?
Check for continuity across temperature cut out switches. Sometimes the connector (shovel plug) is defective.
Next is the printed circuit board: (1) Look for bad solder joints and (2) check the MGT relay. It is on the PCB and has 2 shovel plugs on the top.
"closing door, flickered when checking the door switches" = Loose connection somewhere.

You indicated: "turntable runs when the door is closed." So at times, this turntable is running and nothing else works. This would probably be a stuck relay on the control board.
When all power fails on the unit, it has to be either the thermal cutout switch, door interlock microswitch, or some other safety device. It could also be the connectors on these sensors/switches. If the connection is a bit loose, it may conduct electricity and then fail when a higher current is demanded.
If your OK with working on live equipment, use a insulated poker (dry chopstick) to move wires/connectors inside. See if you can isolate the problem without being electrocuted.
If you don't find a loose connection or defective thermo-switch then you're left with the control board. In that case, recomend going on NextDoor.com or a garage sale and look for a 'free microwave' that isn't working. You can save the switches from your current uW oven as spare parts.
Some of the microwave oven are just dirty and can be cleaned by boiling a cup of water in the oven. I see many for sale under $20, not worth purchasing a $100 circuit board to fix your current oven.
Best of luck to you!
