Re:
Error code E552 is usually caused by a communication issue between the CMM and the computer. You can try restarting the CMM and the computer, and ensuring that all cables are properly connected. If the issue persists, you may need to take your CMM to a certified Mitutoyo service center for further diagnosis and repair.

Mitutoyo is a brand that produces precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and height gauges. An error code E940 on a Mitutoyo instrument typically indicates a problem with the instrument's communication interface. This can be caused by a variety of issues, such as a problem with the instrument's cable or software, or a problem with the computer or device to which the instrument is connected.
To troubleshoot the issue, you should first check the connections between the instrument and the computer or device to ensure that they are properly connected and secure. If the connections appear to be fine, you may need to update the software on the instrument and computer or device to resolve the issue.
Fault at its main digital board. Short circuited component/s at it. Contact any service technician; or the authorized service center. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ In most cases, the main board might have to be replaced. If so, a software [firmware] update too might be necessary.
I realise this question is old, but you never know, might help someone in the future. This particular error is that the probe is not correctly seated, usually the magnets have become slightly loose. The solution is to take the probe head off the cmm, and push the magnets against your surface table or suitable flat surface, this should push the magnets into their correct position. If this doesn't help, it may be that you've managed to break that particular part, if you have a probe rack, try a different probe. Lastly, if you crashed the CMM by hitting something, ensure you didn't bend your probe in the process (and the ruby is still there!), this doesn't help the error code fix, but worth checking as the cmm crashing into something at speed is the most likely cause of this E671 error.
For some reason, if you have Adobe's CMM installed on your computer, the Media Converter for Philips is unable to start up and will error out every time. You have to uninstall Adobe's CMM (any version), once you do that, the Media Converter for Philips by ArcSoft will work as it should. I found this conflict when I viewed the error in Windows Event Viewer where it listed that the conflict was being caused by the Adobe CMM.dll, I uninstalled Adobe's CMM from my system and the media converter works fine now.
