My Panasonic 1250W Genius microwave just began a P-error-countdown. No button works. Has been working well. Has been in same plug for many months. How do I fix it?

A P-error-countdown on a Panasonic Genius microwave can be caused by a number of issues.
First, try unplugging the microwave for a few minutes and then plugging it back in. This can often clear any temporary error codes and restore the microwave to normal operation.
If the problem persists, check to make sure the door is closing properly and securely. A damaged or misaligned door can cause the microwave to think that it is open and prevent it from working.
The issue could also be caused by a problem with the microwave's control panel. Try to reset the microwave by unplugging it for a few minutes and then plugging it back in.
If the issue continues, it is likely that there is a malfunction with the microwave's control board or other internal component. It's best to contact the manufacturer for assistance or take it to an authorized service center for repair.
It's important to never try to repair a microwave oven by yourself as it can be dangerous and may cause damage to the appliance or even injury.

Testimonial: "Thank you Stergios! VERY HELPFUL! Unfortunately, I tried all of your suggestions but they did not help. But now the countdown has stopped, the display reads 88:88 and no button works."

A "P-error" countdown on a microwave typically indicates a problem with the unit's touchpad or control panel. The first step in troubleshooting this issue would be to unplug the microwave and wait a few minutes before plugging it back in. This can sometimes reset the control panel and clear the error. If the problem persists, it's possible that the touchpad or control panel may need to be replaced. It's also possible that there may be an issue with the microwave's power source or internal components. It is best to consult the user manual or contact the manufacturer for further troubleshooting steps or to schedule a repair.

My Panasonic genius 1250w shows DEMO on screen and does not respond to settings

"DEMO MODE" is a tool intended for in-store demonstration of the microwave oven to the consumer.
While in Demo Mode, if you push "START", the microwave will not fully operate as designed. To Exit Demo Mode, press the "Timer/Clock" button four times. If it does not work, see to your operating manual.

Manual for Panasonic sensor 1250w

Do you mean a Panasonic 1250W microwave with 'Genius Sensor' technology? If so, you should check the model number on your microwave to find the correct manual.

Panasonic has several models with sensor modes. The manual will usually be on the product page. Search for the model from http://shop.panasonic.com and scroll down to the manuals section. Alternately, go to http://shop.panasonic.com/support , then do the model search. This will automatically go the the Owner's Manual section on the product page.

A manual for the NN-SN933 (and several other models) is here: ftp://ftp.panasonic.com/microwaveoven/om/nn-sn943_nn-sn933_nn-sn743_nn-sn733_en_om.pdf . This is a 2.2 cu. ft. model that was advertised on target.com as a Genius Sensor microwave.

I hope this helps. Please add a comment with the model number of your microwave if you need a different manual.

Panasonic genius inverter 1250w door stuck

Sounds like a spring let go, or the plastic piece that the spring hooks onto broke. Either way, the top cover will have to come off. Could be an easy fix unless something broke.

Panasonic Sensor 1250W Microwave cycles off after only 5 seconds.

See if this describes what's happening:
  • Put in time, push start and unit runs for 2 seconds, relay clicks, unit goes off. Cook time on display goes off and clock time comes back. Bad upper interlock switch and charred connector.
If so, see http://www.microwavedisplay.com/safety.txt , http://www.microwavedisplay.com/disassembly.txt and http://www.microwavedisplay.com/doorsw.txt

Otherwise, if the digital programmer circuit / controller does not get a feedback signal from the inverter for a period of 3 seconds, the controller will stop the cook cycle.

That may be a loose connection in the wiring between the inverter, magnetron, and/or control board, or maybe one of those components has failed.

Due to the lethal voltages used and produced in inverters, I do not recommend that an inexperienced person work on these.
