Can you help with these Bosch 715 EFS GWH Error Codes? AF, 40, 07 -

I'm trying to locate error codes online for my Bosch 715 EFS tankless GWH. I can only find a few but they are not the codes showing on my LCD screen at power up. The codes I see are AF (not FA), 40, and 7. At this point, I'm not even sure they are error codes because they are not listed in the Error Code Troubleshooting section of the Installation Manual. This unit is 10 years old and has a mixing valve. The unit has suddenly stopped igniting. I have always had the temperature set at 120 F. I also see a battery icon on the LCD screen at power up - the full display only flashes for a second but it looks like it shows the battery level to be "low". I opened the back cover of the control panel and could not find a battery. The two fuses look fine. Edited: There is a hum coming from the control panel (only when calling for hot water) but it is inconsistent rather than steady - it fluctuates slightly and intermittently - no pattern). Any help is greatly appreciated.

My GWH 715 ES cannot restart after hot into cold water crossover
Check for obstruction in your watervalve. It has a flow meter, that needs to spin freely. Remove the watervalve and blow through it, you should hear it spin.
Also make sure you dont have an error code showing. Hold down your reset button for 5 seconds to reset an error code and get back to your set temp.

E4 code on a bosch ghw 715 control unit
Before calling service technician, open following link for Bosch troubleshooting resources:

Error codes are starting point for troubleshooting, and solutions vary by model and unit.
E4 is Backflow temperature sensor over 309 degrees F. Appliance will close burner and lock.
Check combustion air and backflow vent piping for blockage.
Check if secondary fan connections are disconnected.
Check venting specifications are met. Long vent lengths, venting with more than three elbows, blocked vent or combination venting may cause this failure.
Check sensor resistance

I have a Bosch GWH 2700 CTDR EFS NG and the water will not get hot and if it does, it's only for a brief moment.
A lot of factors, internal and external, can cause this problem ranging from bad PC board to plumbing problem.

Call qualified service technician, and ask that person questions about maintenance and tips.
Then keep service technician number in rolodex-wallet.

Resourceful do-it-yourselfer will find following links handy.
Tankless are maintenance heavy, and Bosch and Rheem etc say to call service technician for recurring problems. Especially when short-hand troubleshoot section doesn't solve problem.
People spend years learning how to service tankless.

The water fluctuate very hot to very cold and sometime runs for long time before getting hot water. bosch gwh 715es
either you main controller is bad, or the thermo couple is faulty

Bosch Pro tankless water heater overheating
The vent pipe you use is the correct size for the heater.Longer runs require bigger pipe.I also would check to see if the water is getting to hot.
